Tropical weather to continue for Independence Day!


The weather at 7am 237 years ago was a lot more comfortable in this area with temperatures in the mid 60s and a light northerly wind, the high temperature only reached the mid 70s.
This morning daybreak temperatures are in the mid 70s and the dew points are in the oppressive lower 70s.
Yesterday the dew point at my station in the evening reached 79 degrees the highest since I installed the station last spring..
Today we will have plenty of sunshine it will remain quite humid, only an outside chance of a shower well inland.
The hot and humid weather will continue the next several days as a very strong Bermuda high remains just off our coast. Most of our area will stay dry but there is an outside chance of a shower in this tropical air mass. Enjoy this Caribbean type weather mon!!

Bermuda high building into the area lowering our rain chances!


Another warm and humid morning, most areas are dry but there are a couple of showers in the Morris County area, daybreak temperatures around around 70 degrees.
Today we will have mostly cloudy skies with most break of sun will be in the afternoon, there will be a chance of an afternoon and evening shower and thunderstorm but most areas will remain dry but it will remain humid.
As the large high Bermuda high builds westward into our area we will have more sunshine starting on Independence day along with very warm to hot temperature.
Hot and humid weather will continue from Friday through at least the middle of next week, most areas will see no rain.

Another cloudy and humid day with some thunderstorms!


At 6:30am this morning it is cloudy and humid again, we had some light showers around 4am but those showers have moved to our north.
This morning will be mainly dry but thunderstorms are likely to redevelop this afternoon with heavy rain possible once again. Hopefully we don’t get the torrential downpour that caused massive flash flooding as we had yesterday morning.
Chances of thunderstorms will decrease as the week goes on as a high pressure ridge over the Atlantic builds west into our area. Temperatures will increase with more sunshine rising to near 90 on Independence day and this heat along with high humidity will last through the weekend into at least early next week.

The Forecast: Today – Cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely by this afternoon, some heavy rain possible, high in the low 80s.
Tonight – Cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, some rain may be heavy, low around 70.
Wednesday – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the upper 80s.
Independence Day – Mostly cloudy, high near 90.
Friday – Partly sunny, high near 90.
Saturday – Partly sunny, high near 90.

July starting out where June left off, humid with showers and thunderstorms around!


Another warm and humid morning with cloudy skies, overnight temperatures only fell to the low 70s.
We have been missing almost all of the rain this past weekend in the Clifton area but portions of the area especially Eastern Pennsylvania, Northwest New Jersey and the Hudson Valley did have very heavy rainfall, and this morning is no exception as heavy rain is occurring at 6:30am in those same areas.
Today will feature cloudy and humid conditions with showers and thunderstorms likely, heaviest just to our west.
It will remain cloudy on Tuesday but rain chances will diminish somewhat.
As we move through the rest of the week there will be more sunshine with rising temperatures, it will remain humid with mainly just scattered afternoon and evening showers.
At this time next weekend looks to be hot and dry with those conditions continuing into early next week.
