Winter storm watch issued for Saturday; Snow accumulations 6-8+ inches likely!


Temperatures this morning are mainly in the teens throughout the area, skies are mostly cloudy.
Today we will have partly sunny skies, temperatures will be a couple of degrees warmer than yesterday but still well below normal for this time of year.
A low pressure system will move into our area on Saturday with snow developing around 10am and continuing into Saturday night. The precipitation may mix with freezing rain and sleet before ending early Sunday morning.. Accumulations will average about 6-8 inches in the Clifton area with 8-10 inches further inland with a foot of snow not out of the question.
The system will move away on Sunday with clearing skies and seasonably cold temperatures.
Quiet weather pattern next week with little or no precipitation. Temperatures will start off cold on Monday moderating as the week goes on..

The forecast: Today – Partly sunny, high in the low 30s.
Tonight – Mostly cloudy, low around 20.
Saturday – Snow developing mainly after 10am, snow continuing into Saturday night changing to a mix of sleet, snow and freezing rain before ending.. accumulation 6-8 inches likely, high in the upper 20s.
Sunday – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 30s.
Monday – Sunny, high near 30.
Tuesday – Mostly cloudy, high in the upper 30s.
Wednesday – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 30s.
Thursday – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 30s.

Marine forecast: Small craft advisory in effect till 4pm for west winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 3-5 feet.
Outlook – Advisories likely Saturday night through Sunday.

    Allan – good morning… Shari & I were going to go into NYC on Sunday morning to spend the day and then stay overnight … sounds like it might be better to cancel our plans? or should we tough it out???
