Dry and cold the rest of the work week! Significant winter storm likely on the weekend!


We have clear skies this morning and cold temperatures as readings are near 20 degrees in the Clifton area with teens inland. Be careful going outside today since there may be icy spots on untreated sidewalks and roads. Yesterday I measured 3 inches of snow.
The rest of this work week will be dry and cold with highs near the freezing mark and lows in the teens.
Another winter storm is likely to affect our area on the weekend with the best chance of precipitation late in the day Saturday into Sunday morning.. The computer models have come in colder with this storm so most areas will experience snow that may change to rain along coastal areas but inland the snow may change to freezing rain. Too early for details on amounts.
After the storm we will have cold and dry weather into the early part of next week.

Quick moving storm will dump 3-5 inches of snow today followed by very cold weather the rest of the week!


Skies are cloudy in the area with most temperatures around around the 30 degree mark.
Snow is advancing toward us and should reach our area around 8am. Snow will becoming heavy at time especially 9am-2pm with a quick 3-5 inches of inches expected. The storm will be out of here by this evening with most snow over by 4pm.
Colder weather will follow the storm for the rest of the week with most high temperatures barely reaching the 30 degree mark and lows in the teens.
The next shot of precipitation is with a storm moving into the area on Saturday, at the present time it appears that it will be a snow changing to rain situation.
Clearing on Sunday and cold again early next week.

Icy Monday morning commute; More snow on Tuesday!


Temperatures this morning are at or just below freezing across the area and freezing light rain and drizzle is occurring causing slippery conditions on untreated roads and sidewalks so be careful traveling this morning. Temperatures will gradually rise above freezing this morning so precipitation will change to all rain before ending this afternoon as readings rise into the 40s.
Another wave of low pressure will cause more precipitation on Tuesday this time in the form of snow. Snow should start before daybreak and end in the afternoon, right now an average of 1-3 inches can be expected by higher amounts are possible in heavier snow bands. Very difficult to predict where these snow bands will occur, just like yesterday when parts of Southern New Jersey and the Philadelphia area received an unpredicted 9 inches of snow.
Cold arctic air will be over us from Wednesday through Friday with Thursday being the coldest day.
Temperatures moderate a little on Saturday but another storm system may give the area another round of winter type precipitation Saturday night into Sunday..

Increasing clouds with snow developing by evening, changing to rain on Monday!


Temperatures are colder than the last few mornings with readings in the low to mid 20s in the Clifton area to the teens further inland, skies are mostly clear.
Today we will see skies become cloudy with a chance of some snow by late this afternoon, snow should then mix with sleet late at night before changing to just plain rain early Monday morning.
Inland the change over to rain won’t be until later Monday morning.. Accumulations will range from 1-2″ in the Clifton area to 2-3″ further inland. This is a tricky forecast since a degree or two warmer or colder will make quite a difference on what type of precipitation will fall.
Precipitation will end as rain Monday afternoon.
Another wave of low pressure may give us a light coating of snow on Tuesday.
Quite cold and dry weather Wednesday through Friday, with a slight moderation in temperatures by next weekend.

We have cloudy skies in the Clifton area with temperatures in the low 30s, the precipitation has ended with nothing frozen falling in our area with only a coating of snow in far Northwest New Jersey and the Poconos.
Today will a dry and seasonable cold day.
On Sunday we will have increasing cloudiness with snow developing by Sunday night, with the snow mixing with sleet and freezing rain by Monday morning. We may pick up a couple of inches of the white stuff before it changes all to rain later Monday morning. Rain should end Monday evening.
On Tuesday there is still a chance of snow showers followed by very cold but dry conditions Wednesday through the end of next week.

Colder air moving in with rain that will end as a wintry mix before ending early Saturday!


A cold front is moving through the area this morning, temperatures are still in the 50s but should start to fall into the 40s later this morning. Some showers this morning then we will have a dry period till later this afternoon when rain will develop. The precipitation is expected to mix with and change to sleet and snow before ending early Saturday morning. Accumulations should be from a coating to an inch of sleet and snow.
Drier and cool weather for the rest of Saturday that will last into Sunday morning.
Another storm system will cause precipitation to develop by Sunday night, it will be cold enough for a mixture of snow and sleet overnight before changing to rain Monday morning, another coating to an inch of snow and sleet is possible before the changeover to rain.
Dry and rather cold Tuesday through the end of next week.

We have cloudy skies with some light rain, drizzle and fog around, temperatures are very mild with most areas are in the 40s.
Today we will have mostly cloudy skies but a warm front moving to our north will cause the temperatures to rise to the 60 degree mark. showers will continue into tonight.
Friday an approaching cold front will move through the area during the day, early morning temperatures in the 50s will be dropping as the day goes on.
Colder air will move into the area on Friday night with precipitation changing to a mixture of snow, sleet and rain before ending early on Saturday morning, no accumulation is expected along the coast but an inch or two may fall well inland.
Colder and dry most of the weekend but another low pressure area will be moving in. Precipitation will start off as a wintery mix Sunday night before changing to rain on Monday, minor accumulations can be expected in most of the area before the change over to rain on Monday morning.
Dry and colder weather moving in on Tuesday and should last most of next week.

With cloudy skies early this morning temperatures are in the low-mid 30s in the Clifton area to the upper 20s further inland.
Today we should see some sunshine with mild temperatures continuing.
A warm front approaching tonight may cause some drizzle late tonight into Thursday morning, otherwise temperatures on Thursday will be quite mild reaching the low 60s in most area.
Shower chances increase Thursday night into Friday as a cold front slowly moves through the area. Temperatures will be mild Friday morning but fall as the day goes on. The precipitation may change to snow inland before ending early Saturday morning.
Most of the weekend with be cold and dry, however a storm will be moving into the area late in the day or at night on Sunday affecting the area into Monday. Precipitation with this storm may start off as a winter mix Sunday night before changing to rain on Monday.

With cloudy skies temperatures are in the low 30s in the Clifton area to the 20s inland. With light winds and higher humidity there is quite a bit of frost around.
Today after morning clouds it will become mostly sunny and mild with temperatures again reaching the low 50s.
On Wednesday we will have increasing clouds and the mild temperatures will continue..
There may be a shower late Wednesday night into Thursday morning as a warm front moves through. Thursday will be very mild with highs approaching the 60 degree mark.
A cold front will be slowly sagging through the area on Friday with showers and as colder air filters into the area this precipitation may mix or change to snow before ending on Saturday morning.
It will be dry and chilly most of the upcoming weekend but another low pressure system will be moving into the area Sunday night into Monday, at this point it appears that we will have some snow late Sunday night changing to rain on Monday.
