Skies have become cloudy early this morning, temperatures range from the upper teens in the Clifton area to the low teens further inland, winds are light westerly.

Light snow has moved into Eastern Pennsylvania early this morning and should start in the Clifton area around 8am, most of the snow will fall this morning with just occasional light snow this afternoon, snowfall amounts should be around 1 inch. Temperatures will be quite cold with highs only in the 20s.

On Wednesday an Arctic cold front will be crossing the area in the afternoon, this front will be accompanied by some snow showers in the afternoon, some of these showers may be briefly heavy coating the ground.  After the frontal passage winds will pick up to near 40 mph and temperatures will fall to near zero by Thursday morning with wind chills as low as -20.

Thursday will be cold with diminishing winds, highs will only reach the low 20 despite mostly sunny skies.

Friday we will be a little less frigid with highs reaching the low 30s.

The weekend will start off cold with moderating temperatures by Sunday, no precipitation is expected.

Not as cold next week with no big storms on the horizon.

Skies are partly cloudy early this morning and the temperatures are mainly in the 30s, winds are gusty out of the northwest to 30 mph.

Today we will have mostly sunny skies but temperatures will be falling through much of the day reaching the 20s by sunset, winds will be gust to near 35 mph, winds diminish tonight.

On Tuesday a weak disturbance will give us about an inch of snow, starting around 10 am and lasting to sunset.

Much colder the rest of the week but we should stay dry, the coldest temperatures will be Wednesday night into Thursday with overnight lows in the single digits and with winds gusting to 30 mph will cause wind chill values to fall well below zero.

Slightly less cold on the weekend but still readings will be below average, again we should stay dry.

Not as cold next week and there is no indications of any snowstorms for the foreseeable future.

We have clouds and fog early this morning in the area with some light rain and drizzle,  temperatures range from the upper 30s in the Clifton area to the low-mid 30s further inland, winds are light.

Today we will continue have periods of rain, a warm front should move north of us by later this morning causing temperatures to rise well up into the 50s.  A cold front will cross the area this evening accompanied by showers and followed by colder temperatures as readings will fall to near 30 degrees by Monday morning.

Monday will be a cold and windy day with plenty of sunshine.

Tuesday some light snow is likely starting around 9am and continuing till around sunset, at this time accumulations will be near one inch.

Frigid air will then move into the area on Wednesday with the coldest temperatures since last January expected Wednesday night into Thursday, lows on Wednesday night will be in the single digits and highs barely reaching 20, it also will be windy and wind chill values will be below zero, at least it will stay dry.

Dry and not quite as frigid Friday into next weekend but temperatures will still be well below normal.

Skies are partly cloudy at daybreak with temperatures ranging from the upper 20s in the Clifton area to the upper teens in the normal colder areas inland, winds are light.

Today will become cloudy this morning with precipitation moving into the area this afternoon, the precipitation will start off as a mixture of snow and sleet that may give us a coating of snow before mixing with and changing to all rain tonight,  inland were the cold will linger longer a couple of inches of snow is  possible along with some freezing rain.

A warm front associated with the storm will move north of us in the morning, temperatures will rise into the 60s, rain will continue tomorrow morning and then period of rain showers during the day with even a chance of a rare January thunderstorm.  A cold front will cross the area by Sunday evening dropping temperatures along with windy conditions and partial clearing.

Monday will be colder but dry.

Cold with a chance of some light snow Tuesday afternoon and evening, we could pick up about an inch of snow from this fast moving system.

Then frigid air will dominate Wednesday through Friday with Thursday being the coldest day when lows drop to the single digits and highs only around 20.

Skies are partly cloudy early this morning and temperatures are about ten degrees higher than yesterday morning ranging from around 30 in the Clifton area to the low 20s further inland, winds are light.

Today will be a rather nice day with high temperatures reaching the low 40s and with some sunshine and light winds it will feel more comfortable than the last couple of days.

A storm system will be moving into the area tomorrow with precipitation starting off as a mix of snow, sleet and rain in the afternoon and changing to all rain at night, there may be a little accumulation before the change over.

Rain will persist into Sunday and it could become quite mild as a warm front moves through the area, temperatures may briefly rise to the low 60s in the afternoon.

The mild weather will be short lived as a cold front will cross the area by Sunday night ending the rain but ushering in colder air.

Monday will be a seasonably cold and dry day.

A clipper system may give us some light snow Tuesday afternoon followed by the coldest air of the season so far Wednesday through Friday.

No major snowstorms are indicated for at least the next two weeks.

MARINE FORECAST:   Small craft advisory in effect till noon today for westerly winds gusting to 30 mph this morning, diminishing this afternoon, seas 4-5 feet this morning diminishing to 3-4 feet by this afternoon.

OUTLOOK – Advisories likely Saturday night through Monday with no advisories expected on Tuesday.

CLIMATE – December 2014 averaged nearly four degrees above normal, precipitation in Clifton was 4.63″ which is slightly above normal.  Snowfall was only .2 of an inch well below the 6 inches that normally fall in December (probably since the winter shower curtain is not up)       The year 2014 was slightly below normal in temperatures but it still made it the coldest year since 2003, the first three months of the year were much below normal.  Snowfall was over 50 inches for the year, most of it falling January till we took the winter shower curtain down in mid February.  The highest temperature of the year was 94 degrees on July 8th and the lowest was a frigid 1 degree above zero on January 7th.
