Snow later today with near blizzard conditions late tonight, followed by brutal cold and very strong winds!

Sitting on the balcony here in Granada it is mostly clear and 79 degrees just like it has been while being here the last nine days.

Back home in Clifton skies are mostly cloudy with a temperature of 7 degrees with  below zero readings in some of the colder suburbs, do I really have to come home tonight.

A clipper storm system will move across the area and then rapidly develop off shore, snow should begin after 5 p.m., temperatures will rise into the low 30s but as the storm moves off the coast colder air will move behind it and winds will increase mainly after midnight, near blizzard conditions overnight into Sunday morning with winds gusting to 50 mph, snow will end late Sunday morning but blowing snow and the strong winds will continue throughout the day. Temperatures will fall to the single digits by sunset with dangerous wind chills. Total snow accumulations of around 3-5 inches with the possibility of higher amounts if any snow bands are in the area.

Monday morning will be extremely frigid with some of the coldest readings in years with many areas below zero, winds will only slowly diminish with wind chill values of -25 degrees. Highs will recover to near 20 degrees by the afternoon.

Another disturbance will give us a chance of snow late Tuesday into Wednesday followed by more frigid air for the end of the week, brrrrr.
