Some snow for the last day of March!


Early this morning we have mostly clear skies and temperatures range from the low 30s here in Clifton to some upper 20s further inland, winds are light.

Skies will becoming cloudy this morning with precipitation in the form of rain and snow developing this afternoon and continuing into this evening, the best chance of snow accumulation will be the higher elevations inland like Schooleys Mountain in Morris County  were there may be a couple of inches may accumulate, in the Clifton area there can be a coating mainly on grassy surfaces.

Clearing for the first day of April, temperatures will be slightly below normal.

Thursday looks to be a very nice day with highs in the upper 50s.

A frontal system will move into the area before daybreak on Friday which will cause showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms, it will become milder with high temperatures well up into the 60s.

Some showers may linger into Saturday morning followed by clearing in the afternoon, it will be breezy and cooler.

Easter Sunday should be a rather nice day with mostly sunny skies and seasonably cool temperatures.

Dry and seasonably mild conditions early next week.

TONIGHT – Cloudy with rain and snow ending by midnight, accumulations ranging from a trace in the Clifton area to 2-3 inches further inland.

At 6 a.m. this morning we have cloudy skies and temperatures are rather uniform in the area mostly in the low to mid 30s,

A weak front will be crossing the area today causing some light flurries or sprinkles this morning followed by partial sunshine this afternoon, temperatures will become milder with highs in the 50s.

Another weak low pressure system will give us another chance of light rain and snow late tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night along with slightly cooler temperatures.

Wednesday will be a sunny and cool.

Milder weather Thursday and Friday with but showers will likely moving into the area on Thursday night and extend into Saturday morning.

At this time Easter looks to be mostly sunny with near normal temperatures.

Milder this week after one more day of chilly weather!


Skies are mostly cloudy early this morning and temperatures have fallen to the low 20s here in Clifton to the upper teens in the colder areas of Northwest New Jersey, winds are from the north around 10-15 mph, the 23 degree reading at 6 a.m. here is the coldest March 29th since my records began in 1973.

After early morning cloudiness skies will become sunny during the day today, temperatures will be a few degrees higher than on Saturday but still well below normal for this time of year, winds will diminish.

On Monday a weak warm front will be crossing the area in the morning that may touch off a light rain or snow shower in the morning followed by mostly sunny skies, it will be milder with highs in the mid 50s.

Tuesday and Wednesday should be dry with near seasonable temperatures.

Milder on Thursday and Friday but another low pressure system will give us a chance of showers Thursday night into Friday.

At this time Easter weekend will be dry with cooler temperatures with highs mostly in the low 50s.

Chilly weekend with a chance of some snow showers today! More normal spring weather next week!


At daybreak this morning we have mostly cloudy to cloudy skies and temperatures range from the low 30s in the Clifton area to the upper 20s across parts of Northwest New Jersey, winds are from the north averaging around 10 mph.

Today will be cloudy with a chance of some light snow showers, temperatures will be well below normal only reaching around 40 degrees and with a rather gusty wind it will feel much cooler.

Sunday will see more in the way of sunshine but temperatures will only recover to the mid 40s.

Finally some consistently spring like weather next week with highs mostly in the 50s each day, at this time the only chance of rainfall would be Tuesday night and again Thursday and Friday as a couple of weak systems move through the area.

Rain this morning; Colder with some snow showers on Saturday!


Rain is falling at daybreak this morning and temperatures range from the upper 30s in the Clifton area to the low 30s further inland where there is some snow mixing with the rain, winds are from the north 10-15 mph.

Rain should end by mid morning as a front moves offshore but we should stay mostly cloudy throughout the day, high temperatures will mainly be near the 50 degree mark.

Colder air will filter into our area late tonight and Saturday will be a chilly day with occasional rain and snow showers, at this time no accumulation is expected, highs will only be in the low 40s.

After a cold start on Sunday, highs should be a few degrees higher than on Saturday along with plenty of sunshine.

Finally more springlike weather next week with highs mostly in the 50s each day, no significant rainfall is expected but we may have some showers on Tuesday night and then again on Thursday as some weak fronts move through the area.

Milder with rain showers today into Friday morning; Colder over the weekend!


We have mostly cloudy skies at 6 a.m. on this Thursday morning and temperatures are milder than the last few mornings ranging from around 40 degrees in Clifton to the mid 30s further inland, winds are light.

Today we will have mainly cloudy skies but there may be a few breaks especially this morning, there is a chance of showers this morning as a warm front moves through our area.  More widespread showers with even some isolated thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.  Temperatures will rise into the low 60s despite the clouds.  A cold front will pass through the area tonight, some lingering showers following the front ending Friday morning.

Friday we will have clearing in the afternoon, temperatures will be cooler but right around normal for late March.

Colder weather again for the weekend and we will have a chance of snow showers Saturday morning changing to rain showers in the afternoon, high temperature will only reach around 40 which is well below normal.

Sunday morning will be clear with temperatures falling to around 20 degrees, not as chilly in the afternoon with the strong March sunshine.

Early next week looks mainly dry with near normal temperatures.

Milder but showers likely from late today through early Friday!


Skies are mostly clear at daybreak this morning and temperatures range from the mid 20s in the Clifton area to the teens in the normally colder areas inland, winds are nearly calm.

High pressure over us this morning will move offshore as a frontal system approaches from the west, we can expect increasing cloudiness during the day and there is a chance of showers by late this afternoon, high temperatures will still be cool with highs in the 40s.

A warm front will move north of the area tonight, temperatures will not drop much tonight and remain in the 40s.

Thursday will be the mildest day in quite sometime as temperatures should rise into the 60s despite having clouds and showers.

A cold front will be crossing the area early on Friday accompanied by showers and even a rumble of thunder.  We may have lingering showers Friday morning with clearing in the afternoon, temperatures will not be as mild.

A chilly weekend is in store and there is a slight chance of rain or snow showers on Saturday.

Not as cold early next week.

Today we will have mostly cloudy skies this morning becoming mostly sunny this afternoon, high temperatures will be around 10 degrees below normal but with much less wind than the last few days.

Wednesday we will have increasing cloudiness with moderating temperatures but still below normal.  There is a chance of showers at night.

A warm front will move through the area early Thursday accompanied by showers with even a low chance of thunderstorms, temperatures will rise into the 60s.

Friday will have mostly cloudy skies with cooler temperatures.

Cooler than normal weather returns for the weekend, we should mainly stay dry but there is a slight chance of rain or snow showers on Saturday and again on Monday morning.

Cold and dry with less wind today and Tuesday; Milder Wednesday and Thursday with some showers!


Another chilly March morning as temperatures have dipped to around 20 degrees in Clifton to the mid teens further inland with some spots near record cold levels, skies are mostly clear and winds are light.

A cold Arctic high pressure will dominate our weather today and Tuesday and despite plenty of sunshine temperatures will continue to be well below normal, however winds will be lighter than the last couple of days.

Milder on Wednesday as a warm front approaches the area, some showers are possible in the evening.

Thursday will be the mildest day of the week but showers are likely, temperatures are expected to climb into the 60s.

A cold front will cross the area late Thursday night and Friday will be cooler and dry.

At this time the weekend looks dry and again with temperatures well below normal for the end of March, the front with low pressure along it that may of given us some snow or rain now appears will be well south and east of the area.

Chilly and dry weather through Tuesday!


Skies are mostly clear early this morning and temperatures range from the low 30s in the Clifton area to some 20s in far northwest New Jersey, winds are from the northwest around 10 mph.

A cold front came through our area overnight and today will be chilly with highs only reaching the 40 degree mark and with winds gusting to 20 mph it will fell much cooler despite some sunshine.

Tonight will be quite chilly with clear skies low temperatures will fall to around 20 here in Clifton to the teens inland.

Continued chilly on Monday and Tuesday with continued mostly fair skies.

Temperature get closer to normal on Wednesday and even above normal on Thursday but showers are likely mainly Wednesday night into Thursday.

Temperatures fall to below normal readings once again Friday through next weekend, also there will be a front to our south that needs to be watched as some computer models have precipitation in the form of rain or snow reaching our area so stay tuned.
