Milder day today after a cold and icy morning!


Skies are cloudy at 6 a.m. and there is still some flurries or light freezing drizzle in spots, temperatures are ranging from the upper 20s here in Clifton to the mid 20s further inland, winds are light.  We received 3.5 inches of snow from yesterday’s storm.

Today we will have mostly cloudy skies and temperatures should reach the upper 40s which will help melt some of the snow that fell yesterday.

Another cold front will come through the area tonight bringing back well below normal air into the area, temperatures on Sunday and Monday will only reach 40 degrees despite plenty of sunshine.

Dry and slightly less cold on Tuesday.

Milder weather for Wednesday and Thursday but there will be a chance of showers Wednesday night and Thursday.

Cooler than normal again on Friday.

Looking at the longer range it appears that the area will continue to average colder than normal through the first week of April and in this pattern there is still a chance of winter precipitation so don’t put those snow shovels away just yet.

Snow for the beginning of spring!


Skies are cloudy at 6 a.m this morning and temperatures range from around 30 degrees in Clifton to the mid 20s further inland, there is a light easterly wind.

Today snow will begin around noon and continue into this evening, the heaviest snow will fall between 2 and 8 p.m., expect 3-6 inches of accumulations, most of the accumulation will be on colder surfaces.

On Saturday skies will be partly sunny and along with temperatures in the upper 40s will help melt most of the snow that will fall today.

Colder than normal temperature can be expected Sunday through Tuesday along with dry conditions.

Milder Wednesday and Thursday and there may be some showers Wednesday night into Thursday as a cold front moves into the area.

Cold weather continues today with less wind; Snow for the beginning of spring!


Another chilly late winter morning as temperatures range from the mid 20s here in Clifton at 6:00 a.m. to the teens further inland, skies are clear and the winds are light.

Today will be chilly once again but with much less wind and the stronger March sun will make it feel more comfortable than the last two days but high temperatures will only reach the low 40s which is about 10 degrees below normal for this time of year.

A low pressure system will move from the southeast states to off our coast on Friday, snow will begin around 9 a.m and continue into the evening, computer guidance as come in colder with more precipitation so we can expect around 4-6 inches of the white stuff mainly on colder surfaces, it will be hard to accumulate on the roads during the day but road conditions may become slippery in the evening.

We will have clearing on Saturday with temperatures closer to normal and the stronger March sun will help melt most of the snow away.

Dry Sunday into the middle of next week but temperatures will average well below normal.

A chilly and windy hump day; Some snow likely for the beginning of spring!


Skies are mostly clear early this morning, temperatures are rather uniform in the area ranging from the upper 20s in Clifton to the mid 20s further inland, winds continue to be gusty out of the northwest to 25 mph.

Today will be a mostly sunny day but quite cold and windy with gusts up to 35 mph, winds will diminish by evening.

Thursday we will continue have mostly sunny conditions, still chilly but with much less wind.

Spring will arrive Friday evening accompanied by some snow that will mix with rain at times,  expect a couple of inches of slushy snow mainly accumulating on colder surfaces.

Saturday will be a milder day  for the first full day of spring with temperatures near normal with highs near 50, along with partly sunny skies.

More colder than normal air will be with us Sunday through early next week but we should stay dry.

Mild start to St. Patrick’s Day becoming windy and much colder later this afternoon and tonight!


Skies are cloudy at 6 a.m. in the area, temperatures are mild  ranging from the mid 40s in Clifton to the mid 30s in the colder suburbs, winds are light.

A cold front will be crossing the area around noon preceded by some light showers this morning, temperatures will be mild and with some sunshine we may get close to the 60 degree mark.  It will become windy this afternoon with falling temperatures.

Windy and much colder tonight with temperatures falling the 20s by tomorrow morning.

Wednesday and Thursday will be sunny and chilly.

A storm system is expected to move off the coast on Friday, there still is quite a bit of uncertainty in the path and strength of this storm but at this time the best guess is that we have some snow Friday morning changing to rain in the afternoon and then back to snow Friday night, at this time any accumulations of snow will be minor.

Clearing and seasonably mild weather on Saturday but a cold front will cross the area bringing back below normal temperatures once again Sunday through early next week.

Mild and dry with less wind to start the work week! Some morning showers on St. Patrick’s Day,


At 6 a.m this morning we have mostly clear skies with temperatures ranging from 30 degrees here in Clifton to the mid to upper 20s further inland, winds are light.

Today we will have mixed sun and clouds, temperatures will be milder reaching the 50s and with much less wind than yesterday it will be a quite comfortable spring like day.

A cold front will be crossing the area tomorrow morning accompanied by some showers mainly falling from 4-9 a.m., sunshine will return by noon and temperatures will be mild during the midday but colder air will be moving in later in the day and at night with some gusty winds.

Wednesday will be a chilly day with highs not rising above the 30s.

Continued below normal temperatures Thursday and Friday and a low pressure system is expected to develop off the southeast coast, there is a big spread in  the computer models with the American model having the system stay to our south while the European model has precipitation reaching our area on Friday with either snow or rain.

Dry weather over the weekend, Saturday will be mild but cooler air again returns for Sunday.

Beware of the winds today on this Ides of March!


At daybreak this morning we have mainly cloudy skies and temperatures range from 40 degrees in Clifton to the low to mid 30s further inland,  winds are northwest around 10 mph.

Today we will have considerable cloudiness in the area but should see some sunshine, the story of the day will be the winds which may gust to near 40 mph today and only slowly diminsh this evening.  There is a slight chance of a sprinkle today however most areas will remain dry.

Monday should be the mildest day of this upcoming week with highs reaching the mid 50s with partly sunny conditions.

A cold front may touch of a shower early Tuesday morning follow by clearing, again it will be breezy with highs near 50.

Wednesday will be the coldest day of the week with high temperatures only in the 30s despite plenty of sunshine.

Sunny and a bit milder on Thursday but temperatures will remain below normal.

As we start off spring on Friday we may have to deal with a coastal storm that could give the area some rain or snow, “yes snow”!

At 6 a.m. this morning we have light rain falling and the temperature ranges from 36 in Clifton to the low 30s further inland, winds are light.  There may be pockets of freezing rain well inland but most areas are just plain rain.

Today we will have rain just about all day with the heaviest rain falling this morning, the rain will end by this evening,  expect around 3/4 of an inch of rainfall.  High temperatures will be close to normal.

We will have some partial clearing on Sunday, it will be breezy with high temperatures again near normal which is near 50 degrees.

Monday will be the mildest day of the upcoming week with highs in the 50s but a cold front will be swinging through the area at night.

Dry and chilly weather can be expected Tuesday through Friday.

Skies are mostly clear at 6 a.m this morning and temperatures are colder than the last few mornings ranging from the upper 20s in Clifton to around 20 in the normally colder suburbs, winds are light.

Today we will start off sunny but clouds will increase this afternoon and it will become cloudy at night as a low pressure system over the southeast states starts approaching our area.

Rain on Saturday beginning before dawn and continuing during the day and tapering off by evening, expect about 1/2 to one inch of rainfall with the heaviest rain falling during the morning hours.  There is a slight chance that some will fall as freezing rain late tonight over extreme Northwest New Jersey and the Poconos before change to all rain.

Clearing and seasonably mild weather Sunday and Monday.

A cold front will cross the area early on Tuesday give us a low chance of showers.

Mainly dry with below normal temperatures Wednesday and Thursday.

Cooler and dry weather today and Friday; Rain on Saturday!


We have clear skies at 6 a.m this morning with temperatures ranging from the upper 30s in the Clifton area to the low 30s inland, winds have picked up and are gusting to 25 mph.   Yesterday in Clifton we reached the 60 degree mark for the first time since Christmas, this warm air helped to considerably melt our existing snowpack.

Today we will have cooler temperatures with readings more than ten degrees cooler than yesterday, winds will slowly diminish and we will have plenty of sunshine.   Tonight will be chilly with temperatures dropping to the low 20s by early Friday morning.

Friday will be dry and cool however clouds will increase by the afternoon with rain after midnight.

A steady rain will occur Saturday and Saturday night with highs near 50, expect from about 1/2 to one inch of rainfall.

Sunday there is a low chance of showers with near normal temperatures.

Next week will be mainly dry, temperatures wills start off mild but cool down by the middle of next week.
