Milder day today after a cold and icy morning!


Skies are cloudy at 6 a.m. and there is still some flurries or light freezing drizzle in spots, temperatures are ranging from the upper 20s here in Clifton to the mid 20s further inland, winds are light.  We received 3.5 inches of snow from yesterday’s storm.

Today we will have mostly cloudy skies and temperatures should reach the upper 40s which will help melt some of the snow that fell yesterday.

Another cold front will come through the area tonight bringing back well below normal air into the area, temperatures on Sunday and Monday will only reach 40 degrees despite plenty of sunshine.

Dry and slightly less cold on Tuesday.

Milder weather for Wednesday and Thursday but there will be a chance of showers Wednesday night and Thursday.

Cooler than normal again on Friday.

Looking at the longer range it appears that the area will continue to average colder than normal through the first week of April and in this pattern there is still a chance of winter precipitation so don’t put those snow shovels away just yet.

TODAY – Scattered flurries or freezing drizzle till around 9 a.m. then some sunny breaks by this afternoon, high in the upper 40s.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy, low around 30.

SUNDAY – Sunny and cold, high near 40.

MONDAY – Sunny and cold, high near 40.

TUESDAY – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 40s.

WEDNESDAY – Mostly sunny, high near 50, chance of showers at night.

THURSDAY – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, milder with highs in the upper 50s.

FRIDAY – Partly sunny and cooler, high in the upper 40s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  Small craft advisory in effect till 6 a.m. on Sunday for Northwest winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 6-9 feet.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Sunday through Tuesday with possible small craft advisories on Wednesday.

Snow for the beginning of spring!


Skies are cloudy at 6 a.m this morning and temperatures range from around 30 degrees in Clifton to the mid 20s further inland, there is a light easterly wind.

Today snow will begin around noon and continue into this evening, the heaviest snow will fall between 2 and 8 p.m., expect 3-6 inches of accumulations, most of the accumulation will be on colder surfaces.

On Saturday skies will be partly sunny and along with temperatures in the upper 40s will help melt most of the snow that will fall today.

Colder than normal temperature can be expected Sunday through Tuesday along with dry conditions.

Milder Wednesday and Thursday and there may be some showers Wednesday night into Thursday as a cold front moves into the area.

TONIGHT – Snow mainly falling before 9 p.m. low in the upper 20s, total snow accumulation 3-6 inches.

Cold weather continues today with less wind; Snow for the beginning of spring!


Another chilly late winter morning as temperatures range from the mid 20s here in Clifton at 6:00 a.m. to the teens further inland, skies are clear and the winds are light.

Today will be chilly once again but with much less wind and the stronger March sun will make it feel more comfortable than the last two days but high temperatures will only reach the low 40s which is about 10 degrees below normal for this time of year.

A low pressure system will move from the southeast states to off our coast on Friday, snow will begin around 9 a.m and continue into the evening, computer guidance as come in colder with more precipitation so we can expect around 4-6 inches of the white stuff mainly on colder surfaces, it will be hard to accumulate on the roads during the day but road conditions may become slippery in the evening.

We will have clearing on Saturday with temperatures closer to normal and the stronger March sun will help melt most of the snow away.

Dry Sunday into the middle of next week but temperatures will average well below normal.

A chilly and windy hump day; Some snow likely for the beginning of spring!


Skies are mostly clear early this morning, temperatures are rather uniform in the area ranging from the upper 20s in Clifton to the mid 20s further inland, winds continue to be gusty out of the northwest to 25 mph.

Today will be a mostly sunny day but quite cold and windy with gusts up to 35 mph, winds will diminish by evening.

Thursday we will continue have mostly sunny conditions, still chilly but with much less wind.

Spring will arrive Friday evening accompanied by some snow that will mix with rain at times,  expect a couple of inches of slushy snow mainly accumulating on colder surfaces.

Saturday will be a milder day  for the first full day of spring with temperatures near normal with highs near 50, along with partly sunny skies.

More colder than normal air will be with us Sunday through early next week but we should stay dry.

Mild start to St. Patrick’s Day becoming windy and much colder later this afternoon and tonight!


Skies are cloudy at 6 a.m. in the area, temperatures are mild  ranging from the mid 40s in Clifton to the mid 30s in the colder suburbs, winds are light.

A cold front will be crossing the area around noon preceded by some light showers this morning, temperatures will be mild and with some sunshine we may get close to the 60 degree mark.  It will become windy this afternoon with falling temperatures.

Windy and much colder tonight with temperatures falling the 20s by tomorrow morning.

Wednesday and Thursday will be sunny and chilly.

A storm system is expected to move off the coast on Friday, there still is quite a bit of uncertainty in the path and strength of this storm but at this time the best guess is that we have some snow Friday morning changing to rain in the afternoon and then back to snow Friday night, at this time any accumulations of snow will be minor.

Clearing and seasonably mild weather on Saturday but a cold front will cross the area bringing back below normal temperatures once again Sunday through early next week.
