Skies are mostly cloudy to cloudy over the region this morning and it is quite warm with temperatures ranging from the low 70s in Clifton to the mid 60s inland, winds are light.

Today we will have partly sunny skies after some early morning cloudiness it will be hot with highs in the low 90s and with dew points in the 60s it will feel uncomfortable.

The heatwave continues through Thursday with temperatures in the low 90s and continued rather high humidity.

A cold front should be crossing the area Thursday night that may give us a shower.

Not as warm but still above normal temperatures are expected Friday through the holiday weekend and we should stay dry.

Heat and humidity today through the rest of this week with little or no rain!


Skies are clear early this Sunday morning and temperatures are not as cool as the last couple of morning with readings ranging from the upper 60s in Clifton to the upper 50s in the normally cooler suburbs, winds are nearly calm.

Today we will have a mix of clouds and sun along with higher temperatures and humidity, highs will approach the 90 degree mark, humidity will also rise with dew points in the 60s.  There is a slight chance of a late afternoon or evening shower inland but most areas will stay dry.

Look for a hot week as we end August and move into September, highs most days will be in the low 90s with dew points in the 60s.  The area should stay dry the entire week.

Another fantastic summer weekend! Quite warm and dry weather to continue next week!


We have mostly clear skies early this Saturday morning and temperatures range from around 60 in the Clifton area to some upper 40s in the cooler valleys, winds are light and the humidity remains low.

Today we will have plenty of sunshine, temperatures will be a couple of degrees higher than yesterday and the humidity will only slowly rise so it should be a very comfortable day.

Warmer and a little more humid on Sunday but still a nice summer day  with plenty of sunshine.

Much above normal temperatures with moderate humidity most if not all of next week as our dry pattern continues with no rain in sight.

TROPICS:  Tropical storm Erica is still not organized and may weaken as it crosses Cuba and heads into the western Gulf of Mexico.  At the time it appears that Erica will not be much of a wind producer but may still cause very heavy rain for Florida early next week.

We have clear skies early this Friday morning and temperatures are comfortably cool ranging from around 60 in Clifton to even some upper 40s in the cooler valleys, winds are light and the humidity continues to be low.

Today we will have plenty of sunshine along with continued pleasant temperatures and humidity, high temperature should be similar to yesterday rising to just above the 80 degree mark.

Warmer weather this weekend with only a slow increase in humidity levels and again plenty of sunshine.

Quite warm to hot weather for next week and the dry weather pattern should continue.  Moderate humidity is expected.

We have mostly cloudy conditions early this morning and temperatures range from the low 60s in Clifton to the mid 50s further inland, winds are light and the humidity is low.

Today after early morning clouds we will see mostly sunny skies, temperatures may be a degree or two lower than yesterday, the humidity will stay low and we will have another fantastic summer day.

TROPICS – Tropical storm Erica is approaching the Leeward Islands, top wind is around 50 MPH.  The storm is in an area of moderate wind shear so the storm may weaken the next two days, however if it survives indications that the storm will increase in intensity around the Bahamas and may strengthen into a hurricane and threaten the US southeast coast early next week.

Today will be a mostly sunny day with pleasantly warm temperatures and comfortable humidity as dew points will be in the 50s.

Over the weekend we should start to get a little warmer and more humid and we should stay rain free.

Indications are that we may have a heat wave next week along with continued dry conditions as no widespread rain is expected.

Skies are cloudy early this Tuesday morning and it is quite mild with temperatures ranging from the low 70s in the Clifton area to the upper 60s further inland.  There are some showers and thunderstorms up in the Hudson Valley but the rest of the area is mainly dry.

A slow moving cold front will be moving through today, it will still be rather warm and there is a low chance of a shower mainly this morning.  This front will be followed by less humid air this evening.

Conditions should be dry tomorrow through the weekend, temperatures will be seasonably warm with low humidity Wednesday through Friday but a warming trend with increasing humidity is expected over the weekend.

Yesterday was the 51st straight day of 80 degree or higher temperatures which is the longest streak since my records began in 1973.

We have some fog in the area this Monday morning, temperatures range from the upper 60s in the Clifton to some mid 50s further inland, winds are calm and the humidity is high.

Today the fog will burn off shortly after sunrise and it will be a mostly sunny day and quite warm and humid day, dew points will be in the muggy upper 60s.

A cold front will cross the area Tuesday morning with a chance of some shower and thunderstorm activity from this evening into Tuesday morning.  Skies will become partly sunny during Tuesday afternoon, it will be quite warm but it will become less humid.

Dry and pleasant weather Wednesday through the weekend, temperatures will be right around normal Wednesday through Friday and then rise to above normal readings over the weekend.

Today we will have a mix of clouds and sun it will be seasonable warm and the humidity will gradually increase, there is an outside chance of a shower this afternoon mainly over the Hudson Valley and points to our east but most areas will remain dry.

Warm and moderately humid on Monday with again only a slight chance of an afternoon shower, the best chance of showers will be from Monday evening into Tuesday morning as a cold front moves through the area.

After the front expect outstanding late summer weather from Tuesday afternoon into next weekend with seasonably warm temperatures and low humidity along with plenty of sunshine.

Long range hints at another possible heat wave for the end of August into the first few days of September.

A cold front approaching from the west will pass through around Tuesday morning  with again a low chance of showers, humidity will still be rather high until the frontal passage.

High pressure builds in on Wednesday and should control our weather through the end of the week with again giving our area nice late summer weather with warm temperatures and low humidity along with plenty of sunshine.
