Rain moving offshore this morning setting the stage for nice summer weather today through the weekend!


Skies have become partly cloudy early this Friday morning as the area of rain has moved to our east, we picked up around 1/2 inch of well needed rainfall.  Temperatures are in the low 70s in Clifton to the mid 60s further inland, winds are around 10 mph, dew points have fallen to the upper 60s.

The cold front has moved faster than expected and today should be a rather nice day with warm temperatures and slowly falling humidity levels, skies will be partly to mostly sunny.

The weekend looks rather nice with plenty of sunshine both days, Saturday will be much less humid with dew points only in the 50s.  Humidity will rise somewhat on Sunday, there may be an evening shower  but most areas will remain dry.  Highs both days will be in the 80s.

A cold front approaching the area may give us some showers Monday into Tuesday morning.

Nice summer weather Wednesday and Thursday with plenty of sunshine and comfortable humidity.

Very humid with a chance of showers today! Heavy showers late tonight into Friday!


Skies are partly cloudy early this Thursday morning and it is quite humid once again, temperatures range from the low 70s in Clifton to the upper 60s further inland, winds are quite light.

Today will be mostly cloudy with a chance of a pop-up showers, most areas will remain dry but if a shower does develop it can cause heavy rain.  Yesterday a small but intense thunderstorm developed over the Scotch Plains area giving them over 6 inches of rain while here in Clifton we only had a trace of rain in a brief sprinkle. It will continue to be quite humid today.

More widespread showers and thunderstorms after midnight tonight into most of Friday, some rain may be quite heavy in some areas.

At this point the weekend looks mainly dry but there still will be a chance of afternoon and evening showers both days, it will still be humid but not oppressive as the last few days.

Monday is expected to be partly sunny with still a chance of a morning shower.

Dry and much less humid Tuesday and Wednesday as a front clears the area.

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and it is warm and quite muggy, temperatures range from the low 70s in the Clifton area to the upper 60s further inland, winds are nearly calm.

Today we will have a mix of sun and clouds, temperatures will not be as high as the last few day due to more clouds and more of a wind flow off the ocean but the humidity will be higher with dew points in the oppressive low 70s.  There is a low chance of an afternoon or evening shower and thunderstorm.

Thursday again will be very humid with partly sunny skies again with a chance of some showers and thunderstorms but most of the day and evening will remain dry.

A more likelihood of some widespread shower and thunderstorm activity on Friday, some of the rain will be heavy at times with some local flooding possible, it still will be quite humid.

The weekend at this point looks a little less humid but there still is a chance of showers both days.

Still a chance of showers into Monday as a front crosses our area followed by less humid air for Tuesday.

Not as hot but higher humidity the next few days along with increasing chance of showers!


We are having a heavy rain shower early this Tuesday morning as a small area of showers have moved into the Clifton area, most of the other places around the region have partly to mostly cloudy skies.  It is another warm beginning to the day with temperatures ranging from the mid 70s in the Clifton area to the upper 60s further inland, it is a little muggy with dew points in the mid to upper 60s.

Today will not be as hot as yesterday as we will have more clouds but temperatures still should rise just above 90 degrees, there is only a slight chance of showers but most of the area should remain dry, however if a shower does occur they will be heavy and may cause some local flooding, it will be a little more humid with dew points in the upper 60s.

Increasing humidity on Wednesday with again only a slight chance of an showers, temperatures will be lower once again but dew points will rise to the oppressive low 70s.

Shower chances increase Thursday into Friday with continued high humidity as a front approaches are area.

Unsettled weather will continue into the weekend with a chance of showers both days, humidity levels may drop toward the end of the weekend.

Heat to continue today into Tuesday! Not as hot but more humid with shower chances increasing at the end of this week!


Skies are mostly clear early this Monday morning and temperatures are once again quite warm with readings ranging from the low 70s in the Clifton area to the mid 60s further inland, winds are light.

Today will be hot once again, there is an outside chance of an isolated shower but most areas will stay dry, highs once again will reach the low to mid 90s and with the dew points in the mid 60s it will feel rather uncomfortable.

The heat wave continues on Tuesday with again a chance of an isolated shower.

Wednesday through Friday a weak front will be moving into the area giving us more in the way of clouds, temperatures will not be as hot but the humidity will rise along with the chance of showers, at this time it appears the best chance of widespread shower activity will be around Thursday.

Seasonably warm weather and slightly less humid air for the weekend along with mainly dry conditions.

Very hot weather today through at least Tuesday!


Skies are clear early this Saturday morning and temperatures are not as cool as the last couple of mornings with readings ranging from the upper 60s in Clifton to around 60 further inland, winds are nearly calm.

Today will be the start of an extended period of hot weather, we will have plenty of sunshine with temperatures reaching the low 90s, humidity will be moderate with dew points in the low-mid 60s.  There is a slight chance of an afternoon or evening shower mostly across the Poconos and the Hudson Valley but most areas will remain dry.

Sunny and even hotter Sunday and Monday with highs mainly in the mid 90s again humidity will be moderate but not oppressive.

We should stay hot the rest of next week and no widespread rain is expected the best chance of showers will be on Friday as a cold front tries to move into the area. Temperatures may be less hot Wednesday through Friday but the humidity will be higher.

Skies are clear early this Friday morning and it is quite cool with temperatures ranging from around 60 in the Clifton area to some upper 40s well inland, winds are light and the humidity is low.

We will have plenty of sunshine today and temperatures will be a couple of degrees higher than on Thursday, humidity will remain on the low side with dew points in the 50s.

An extended heat wave is in store for us starting tomorrow and lasting through at least most of next week, temperatures will reach the 90s most days with increasing humidity as dew points rise to the upper 60s.  We should remain mainly dry through this period with only a very slight chance of a shower on Saturday and again during the middle of next week.

Skies are mostly clear early this Thursday morning and temperatures are cool ranging from the low 60s in the Clifton area to the low to mid 50s further inland, winds are light.

I did go to a nearby park to watch the meteor shower and was disappointed seeing only six faint meteors in the 45 minutes out there, I expected more since the skies were clear and it was at the supposedly peak time.

Today will be a fine summer day with plenty of sunshine, seasonably warm temperatures and low humidity.

Friday will be a couple of degrees warmer but the humidity will remain low and again with mostly sunny skies.

It will become hot and gradually more humid by the weekend and we should remain dry.

The heat will be with us most of next week with the only chance of showers around  Wednesday.  Humidity will be moderate but not oppressive as dew points will be mainly in the 60s.

Sunny and comfortably warm weather returns today! Clear skies tonight will provide excellent viewing of the Perseid Meteor Shower!


We have mainly clear skies early this Wednesday morning and temperatures range from the mid 60s in the Clifton are to the upper 50s further inland, winds are light.

Today will be a very nice summer day with plenty of sunshine and seasonably warm temperatures, dew points will fall into the comfortable 50s.

Tonight we will have mostly clear skies for the viewing of the annual Perseid Meteor Shower, many times when these showers occur in mid-August skies are either cloudy or the moon restricts the viewing, however tonight with the clear skies and with the nearly new moon will give us an excellent chance of seeing these shooting stars, the best time to see them will be from after midnight to before dawn tomorrow morning.

Dry weather will continue tomorrow through early next week with a warming trend as we see temperatures reaching the 90s by Saturday and last through most of next week, humidity will be moderate but not oppressive as dew points will be averaging in the 60s.
