Summerlike warmth today through the holiday weekend!

Nine days ago I wrote in my blog that the models were indicating a pattern change starting today and lasting through the holiday weekend and amazingly this will turn on to be the case as persistent trough that has dominated the weather most of this month will be replaced by a high pressure ridge in our area.  Today with plenty of sunshine temperatures will take a run at 90 degrees, however the humidity will be on the low side, the last time it reached 90 degrees here was back on September the 9th.

Much above normal warmth should continue through most of the holiday weekend with an increase in humidity by Friday, with the humidity and a couple of fronts to our north may cause some afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms over the weekend but most of the time it will be dry.

A weak backdoor cold front coming through late on Sunday may cause a cooler onshore flow on Memorial Day.

Have a good day!

We have light rain falling early on this Tuesday morning and it is rather mild with most temperatures in the mid-upper 50s, winds are nearly calm.

A weak low pressure is off the Long Island coast and is expected to weaken and move to off the New England coast today while an upper level low will be in our area today causing showers and possibly a thunderstorm into this evening followed by clearing by late tonight, with the clouds temperatures will only rise to the low 70s.

The well advertised change to a more summerlike pattern will start tomorrow and last through most of the holiday weekend.  Tomorrow will be dry with highs well up into the 80s with a 90 degree possible in some areas.

Thursday should be dry and warm.

An increase in humidity Friday through Sunday will cause a possibility of some scattered afternoon showers each day but most of the time it will be dry with highs in the 80s.

A cold front is expected to cross the area sometime on Sunday with dry conditions with cooler temperatures for Memorial Day.
