Heatwave to begin today and last into at least early next week!


Skies are mostly clear early on this Thursday morning and temperatures range from the upper 60s here in Clifton to the mid 50s further inland, winds are light.

High pressure over the area today will provide us with plenty of sunshine, temperatures will rise to near 90, humidity levels will slowly rise with dew points in the 60s.

Very hot and more humid on Friday with a low chance of some thunderstorm activity in the evening.

Saturday may be the hottest day of the heatwave as temperatures rise to the upper 90s with some readings getting close to 100 degrees, humidity levels will likely only be moderate but it still will be uncomfortable.

Mostly sunny on Sunday and temperatures may be a couple of degrees cooler than on Saturday.

A weak front may cause some thunderstorms again on Monday followed by sunny and continued hot weather Tuesday and Wednesday.

 

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – Sunny and hot, high near 90.

TONIGHT – Mostly clear, low around 70.

FRIDAY – Mostly sunny, hot and more humid, high in the mid 90s, chance of evening showers and thunderstorms.

SATURDAY – Mostly sunny and very hot, high in the upper 90s.

SUNDAY – Mostly sunny and hot, high in the mid 90s.

MONDAY – Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the mid 90s.

TUESDAY – Mostly sunny, high in the low 90s.

WEDNESDAY – Mostly sunny, high near 90.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  TODAY – Southerly winds to 15 knots, seas 1 foot.  Water temperatures are in the mid 70s.

OUTLOOK – Advisories possible Friday and Monday with sub-advisory level conditions expected over the weekend.
