SUNDAY  JULY 23, 2017  5:52 A.M.

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Sunday morning and there are some light showers over parts of the area, temperatures range from around 70 in the Clifton area to the mid 60s further inland, winds are mainly calm and the humidity is still on the high side.

Overnight we received just over a half inch of rain with the heaviest rain falling around midnight.

Any showers will end this morning followed by some partly sunny skies this afternoon, high temperatures will only reach the low 80s as our five day heatwave ends.

A disturbance along a front to our south will give us more rain from late tonight into Monday morning, with the clouds and an onshore wind temperatures will even be cooler with highs in the 70s. Additional 1/2 to 1 inch of rainfall possible.

Fair weather with below normal temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday as high pressure builds into the area.

Another front will give us a chance of showers on Thursday with somewhat warmer temperatures.

At this point Friday and Saturday look to be mainly dry with seasonable temperatures.

MONDAY – JUL 24 – Cloudy with showers likely mainly in the morning, high in the upper 70s.

TUESDAY – JUL 25 – Mostly cloudy in the morning then becoming partly sunny, high in the upper 70s.

WEDNESDAY – JUL 26 – Mostly sunny, high near 80.

THURSDAY – JUL 27 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high in the mid 80s.

FRIDAY – JUL 28 – Mostly cloudy in the morning then becoming partly sunny, high in the mid  80s.

SATURDAY – JUL 29 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 80s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  TODAY – North-northeast wind to 10 knots seas 1-2 feet.   Belmar’s ocean temperature is 75 degrees.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Monday through Thursday.
