Quite warm and humid today through Saturday with scattered thunderstorms possible!


WEDNESDAY  AUGUST 2, 2017  5:48 A.M.

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures are warmer than the last few morning with readings ranging from the low 70s in the Clifton area to the low 60s further inland, winds are light and the humidity is rather high with dew points in the upper 60s.

Today will be quite warm and humid but with more cloudiness temperatures will be slightly lower than on Tuesday with highs mostly in the upper 80s.   There is a good chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms.

Still warm and humid through Saturday as high pressure moves off the coast and a front slowly approaches from the west, there will be a chance of mainly afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms each day.

High pressure will give us a mostly sunny day on Sunday with cooler temperatures and lower humidity.

Another front may give us more showers Monday afternoon into early Tuesday morning.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight, low in the upper 60s.

FRIDAY – AUG 4 – Partly sunny with a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, high in the upper 80s.

SATURDAY – AUG 5 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the mid 80s.

SUNDAY – AUG 6 – Sunny and less humid, high in the low 80s.

MONDAY – AUG 7 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, high near 80.

TUESDAY – AUG 8 – Partly sunny, high in the low 80s.

JULY 2017 CLIFTON’S CLIMATE SUMMARY:

This July temperatures were near normal.   Highest 96 degrees on the 20th, lowest 59 degrees on the 25th.  There were 8 days that were 90 degrees or above.  Precipitation was above normal with 6.96 inches falling,  the highest amount was 2.32 inches on the 7th.
