Warm and humid today and on Friday with a low chance of showers and thunderstorms!


THURSDAY  AUGUST 3, 2017  5:50 A.M.

We have dense fog in the area early on this Thursday morning. Temperatures range from the mid 60s in the Clifton area to around 60 further inland; humidity is high and the winds are calm.   Yesterday in Clifton we received .62 inches of rain with much higher amounts to 2 inches only a couple of miles away from here.  Also hail was  observed in the West Caldwell and Fairfield area.

Today will be a warm and humid day and despite a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, the rain will not be as widespread as yesterday.

Another warm and humid day on Friday with again a low chance of showers and thunderstorms.

A cold front will cross the area on Saturday with a chance of showers  followed by cooler and much less humid air for Sunday.

A low pressure system may give us more rain Monday afternoon into early Tuesday followed by fair weather on Wednesday.

TODAY – AUG 3 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly after 5 p.m., high in the upper 80s.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly before midnight, low around 70.

FRIDAY – AUG 4 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly after 3 p.m., high in the mid 80s.

SATURDAY – AUG 5 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the mid 80s.

SUNDAY – AUG 6 – Mostly sunny and less humid, high in the low 80s.

MONDAY – AUG 7 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain, high in the upper 70s.

TUESDAY – AUG 8 – Partly sunny with a chance of mainly morning rain, high near 80.

WEDNESDAY – AUG 9 – Mostly sunny, high in low 80s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  TODAY – Southerly winds to 9 knots, seas 1 foot.  Belmar’s ocean temperatures is 76 degrees.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Friday through Monday.
