Warm today as Autumn begins at 4:02 PM this afternoon! Unseasonably warm this weekend with some record highs possible!


FRIDAY  SEPTEMBER 22, 2017  5:46 A.M.

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Friday morning and temperatures are still mild for this time of year ranging from the mid 60s in the Clifton area down to the upper 50s further inland, there is a light northerly breeze.

High pressure is building into our area from the west as Jose further weakens about 250 miles east of the New Jersey coastline.  Some high clouds from Jose will still be around but we should see mostly sunny skies along with warm temperatures.

Even warmer this weekend with mostly sunny skies temperatures both days will be well up into the 80s with a 90 degree reading possible on Sunday.  High surf will remain through the weekend.

Very warm weather and mainly dry conditions will continue into next week with a possible cooling trend by next Friday as a cold front sweeps through.

TONIGHT – Partly cloudy, low in the low 60s.

SATURDAY – SEP 23 – Sunny, high in the upper 80s.

SUNDAY – SEP 24 – Sunny, high near 90.

MONDAY – SEP 25 – Sunny, high in the upper 80s.

TUESDAY – SEP 26 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 80s.

WEDNESDAY – SEP 27 – Partly sunny, high in the low 80s.

THURSDAY – SEP 28 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 80s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  A small craft advisory is in effect for high seas until 6 a.m. on Sunday morning.  Today – North wind to 20 knots, seas 4-7 feet.

OUTLOOK – Small craft condtions for high seas expected to continue into at least early next week.

 

TROPICS – Post-tropical storm Jose is southeast of Cape Cod and is nearly stationary with highest winds of 50 mph,  Jose is expected to meander off the coast this weekend and slowly weaken further.     Hurricane Maria is just east of Grand Turk Island, Maria is a catagory 3 hurricane with top winds of 125 mph,  Maria is expected to move north well away from the U.S. mainland and weaken as it moves over colder waters.
