Cloudy windy and much colder today with some drizzle! Heavy rain late tonight into Monday!


Good morning everyone!   Skies are cloudy early this morning and temperatures are much colder than this time yesterday with readings ranging from around 40 in Clifton to the low 30s in some areas well inland, winds are brisk out of the east.

Today will be cloudy but mostly dry however there is a chance of some drizzle. Temperatures will fall into the upper 30s this afternoon which will be more than 40 degrees colder than yesterday afternoon.  Some of the drizzle may freeze at higher elevations well inland.  Winds will be gusty out of the east make it feel even colder.

A strong low pressure system will be moving into the area with rain developing tonight and become heavy at times Monday morning with a chance of thunderstorms. The rain will taper off to showers Monday afternoon and it will not be as chilly as today.  Rainfall amounts of 2-3 inches are expected.

The low pressure will move north and east of us on Tuesday giving us chilly temperatures with clearing skies.

Mainly cool conditions Wednesday through the rest of the week.  A weaker low pressure area may give us some showers Thursday afternoon into Friday morning.

 

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – APR 15 – Cloudy, windy and chilly with a chance of light rain developing, high only in the low 40s.

TONIGHT – Rain becoming heavy at times after midnight, low in the upper 30s.

MONDAY – APR 16 – Rain possibly heavy at times with a chance of thunderstorms, not as cool with a high near 60.

TUESDAY – APR 17 – Partly sunny and cool, high in the low 50s.

WEDNESDAY – APR 18 – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 50s.

THURSDAY – APR 19 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, high in the upper 50s.

FRIDAY – APR 20 – Partly sunny, chance of morning showers, high in the mid 50s.

SATURDAY – APR 21 – Sunny, high near 60.

 

MARINE FORECAST:   A gale warning is in effect until 5 p.m. Monday evening.   Today – East winds to 40 knots, seas 7-12 feet.

OUTLOOK – Small craft advisories expected during the day on Tuesday;  no advisories expected Tuesday night through the day on Wednesday; small craft advisories again expected Wednesday night into Thursday.
