Plenty of sunshine and seasonably warm temperatures today through the weekend! Heatwave next week!


Good morning everyone!

Skies are mainly clear early on this Friday morning and it is quite comfortable with temperatures ranging from the low 60s in Clifton dropping down to the low 50s further inland, with Pequest in northwestern New Jersey coming in at a chilly 51 degrees.   The humidity continues to be low and winds are light.

High pressure will be with us today through the weekend providing plenty of sunshine each day, temperatures will be warm throughout the period.  Dew points in the comfortable 50s today and on Saturday will rise to the 60s on Sunday.

We will be having a heatwave Monday through at least Wednesday with temperatures reaching the 90s each day and with dew points rising to near 70 that will bring heat indexes up to near 100 degrees.

The next chance of showers are not until Thursday night as a cold front approaches the area.

TODAY – AUG 24 – Sunny, high in the mid 80s.

TONIGHT – Clear, low in the low 60s.

SATURDAY – AUG 25 – Sunny, high in the low 80s.

SUNDAY – AUG 26 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 80s.

MONDAY – AUG 27 – Mostly sunny, hot and humid, high in the low 90s.

TUESDAY – AUG 28 – Mostly sunny, hot and humid, high in the mid 90s.

WEDNESDAY – AUG 29 – Sunny, hot and humid, high in the mid 90s.

THURSDAY – AUG 30 – Mostly sunny and humid, high in the upper 80s,  chance of showers at night.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  TODAY – Southeast wind to 8 knots, seas 1 foot.    Belmar’s ocean temperature is 76 degrees.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Saturday through Tuesday.
