Good morning everyone!

Our skies are mostly fair early on this Sunday morning and temperatures range from the low 60s in Clifton down to some low 50s across parts of northwestern New Jersey, winds are light, dew points around around 60.

Today we will see mostly sunny skies as high pressure continues over the area, temperatures and humidity will be a little higher than yesterday as dew points rise into the 60s.

A west to southwest flow around a strong high pressure offshore will bring hotter and more humid air into the region starting on Monday with high temperatures reaching the low 90s and dew points approaching 70 degrees.

Dry weather with even hotter weather Tuesday and Wednesday with high temperatures reaching the mid 90s and with dew points in the low 70s that will help push heat indexes to 100-105 degrees, a heat advisory will probably will be issued.

A cold front will cross the area with little or no precipitation on Thursday but it will be followed by cooler air for Friday and Saturday.  The next chance of showers will be on Saturday as a front to our south starts to move north as a warm front.

TUESDAY – AUG 28 – Mostly sunny, very hot and humid, high in the mid 90s.

WEDNESDAY – AUG 29 – Sunny, very hot and humid, high in the mid 90s.

THURSDAY – AUG 30 – Mostly sunny and not as hot or humid, high in the upper 80s.

FRIDAY – AUG 31 – Partly sunny and cooler, high in the upper 70s.

SATURDAY – SEP 1 – Partly sunny with a chance of a shower, high in the upper 70s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  TODAY – South-southwest wind to 12 knots, seas 1 foot.    Belmar’s ocean temperature is 76 degrees.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Monday through Thursday.
