Hot and humid today with plenty of sunshine! Very hot Tuesday and Wednesday! Next chance of showers will be on Thursday!


Good morning everyone!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Monday morning and it is warmer and more humid than the last couple of mornings with temperatures ranging from the low 70s in Clifton down to the low 60s further inland, dew points are near 70, winds are light or calm.

Today will be the first day of a heatwave as a Bermuda high pressure gives us a southwest flow of hot and humid air, there will be plenty of sunshine and it will be humid with dew points reaching the low 70s.

Even hotter weather for Tuesday and Wednesday as temperatures rise to the middle 90s and with dew points reaching the oppressive 70s will cause heat indexes to rise to near 105 degrees, a heat advisory has been issued for both days, skies will be mostly fair.

A cold front will be crossing the area on Thursday afternoon or evening which will give the area a chance of showers.  It will still be hot but becoming less humid at night.

Cooler weather Friday through most  of the holiday weekend along with a low chance of showers each day as the front will be just to our south.

TODAY – AUG 27 – Sunny hot and humid, high in the low 90s.

TONIGHT – Partly cloudy and muggy, low in the mid 70s.

TUESDAY – AUG 28 – Sunny, hot and humid, high in the mid 90s.

WEDNESDAY – AUG 29 – Sunny, hot and humid high in the mid 90s.

THURSDAY – AUG 30 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, humid, high near 90.

FRIDAY – AUG 31 – Partly sunny and much cooler and less humid, high in the upper 70s, chance of showers at night.

SATURDAY – SEP 1 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high in the upper 70s.

SUNDAY – SEP 2 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high in the upper 70s.

 

MARINE FORECAST – TODAY – South to southwest winds to 9 knots, seas 1 foot.   Belmar’s ocean temperature is 76 degrees.

OUTLOOK –  No advisories expected Tuesday through Friday.
