Rain developing this afternoon continuing heavy at times past midnight! Mild and very windy on New Year’s Day!

Good morning!

Skies are mostly clear early on this New Year’s Eve morning and temperatures range from around 30 in Clifton down to the low 20s further inland, winds are mainly calm.

Increasing clouds this morning with rain developing mainly after 4 p.m. as a low pressure approaches our area from the southwest. Temperatures will be milder. The rain will be heavy at times this evening tapering off to showers before ending before dawn tomorrow. Rainfall amounts will be around an inch. Temperatures will hold steady and even rise into the 50s overnight. Last year at midnight the temperature was only 6 degrees, this year will be more than 40 degrees warmer but we have to deal with the rain.

Tomorrow will start off mild with highs near 60 but drop to the upper 40s by sunset. It will become very windy with gusts up to 40 mph possible.

Wednesday will be colder but dry.

Another low pressure will give us a chance of rain or snow Thursday night into Friday.

Dry weather is then expected for next weekend with seasonably mild temperatures.
