Yesterday’s high temperature was 94 degrees which was the hottest day of the year so far.

Today we should have another hot day with increasing humidity, temperatures once again will rise into the 90s and with dew points around 70 it will feel uncomfortable. A cold front approaching the area will cause showers and thunderstorms to develop with some of the storms will be accompanied by strong gusty winds, hail and frequent cloud to ground lightning. The best time of these storms will be between 4 -7 p.m.

Sunday will be cooler and much less humid but some instability may cause an afternoon shower and thunderstorm. It will become breezy with some gusts to 30 mph.

Monday should be dry with seasonably warm temperatures. A weak disturbance may cause a shower to develop at night.

Tuesday and Wednesday look to be dry and become warmer and more humid.

Saturday will be hot with increasing humidity and a cold front will give our area a chance of strong thunderstorms in the afternoon, however much of the time it will remain dry.

Somewhat cooler and less humid Sunday and Monday but we should enjoy plenty of sunshine both days.

Another heatwave is possible Tuesday through next weekend, little or no rain is expected during this period.
