Excessive heat to continue this weekend! Showers and thunderstorms likely Monday into Tuesday morning followed by cooler and much less humid air for the rest of next week!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Saturday morning and temperatures are very warm with readings ranging from the upper 70s in Clifton down to the upper 60s further inland. Also it is quite humid with dew points in the mid 70s.

Excessive heat will continue today with high temperatures reaching close to 100 degrees and with dew points in the 70s will push the heat index up to close to 115. There is a slight chance of an afternoon thunderstorm mainly inland, but most of the area will be dry.

Another very hot day on Sunday with highs again near 100 and heat indexes up to 115. There will be a somewhat better chance of an afternoon thunderstorm but again most places will remain dry.

A cold front will slowly move through the area on Monday and be offshore on Tuesday. Showers and thunderstorms are likely, and with more clouds and rain high temperatures will be much lower, but it will still be humid.

Some lingering showers Tuesday morning followed by much less humid air.

Very pleasant summer weather Wednesday through Friday with seasonably warm temperatures and low humidity.

TUESDAY – JULY 23 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of a shower and thunderstorm in the morning, partly sunny in the afternoon and become much less humid, high in the low 80s.

WEDNESDAY – JULY 24 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 80s.

THURSDAY – JULY 25 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 80s.

FRIDAY – JULY 26 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 80s.

MARINE FORECAST: TODAY – Southwest winds to 8 knots, seas 1 foot. Point Pleasant Beach ocean temperature is 72 degrees.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Sunday through Tuesday.
