Skies across the area are cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and there is still some showers mainly across the Poconos into the Hudson Valley, temperatures range from the mid 50s in Clifton down to 50 further inland, winds are from the north.

High pressure building from the north will give our area partly sunny skies after early morning cloudiness, there is a chance of a light shower before 9 a.m., temperatures will be near seasonable levels.

Low pressure is expected to develop off our coast on Wednesday and stay nearly stationary through at least Thursday causing a chance of light rain both days along with cool temperatures and gusty northeast winds.

Friday will be mostly cloudy, breezy and cool but it should remain dry.

High pressure then will build in for the weekend with mainly dry conditions, temperatures will be near seasonable levels.

TODAY – OCT 8 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of a shower before 9 a.m. then becoming partly sunny, high in the upper 60s.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy, low around 50.

WEDNESDAY – OCT 9 – Mostly cloudy and breezy with a chance of light rain, high near 60.

THURSDAY – OCT 10 – Mostly cloudy and breezy with a chance of light rain, high near 60.

FRIDAY – OCT 11 – Mostly cloudy and breezy, high in the low 60s.

SATURDAY – OCT 12 – Partly sunny, high in the upper 60s.

SUNDAY – OCT 13 – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 60s.

MONDAY – OCT 14 – Sunny, high in the upper 60s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Wednesday morning for northeast winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 4-7 feet.

OUTLOOK – A gale watch has been posted effective from Wednesday morning through Friday afternoon; small craft advisories expected for high seas Saturday and Sunday.
