Rain is falling over the area early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures are mild ranging from the low 50s in Clifton down to the mid 40s further inland, winds are mainly calm.

Low pressure along a front to our south will move offshore and rain with the system will end mainly before 8 a.m. The rest of the day will be mostly cloudy with continued mild temperatures.

A strong front will move through the area on Thursday with showers and thunderstorms likely, the front will be followed by a strong westerly flow of cooler air by late in the day.

Friday will be a cool and windy day as low pressure moves through the Canadian maritime region and high pressure builds in from the west. Most of the day will be dry but there is a slight chance of snow or rain showers mostly to our north and west.

At this point most of the weekend will be dry but another low pressure area will likely give our area a soaking rain late Sunday night into Monday. Temperatures will be cooler than normal on Saturday, near normal on Sunday and above normal on Monday.

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – APR 8 – Showers ending by 8 a.m. then remaining mostly cloudy, high in the upper 60s.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy, low in the mid 40s.

THURSDAY – APR 9 – Cloudy with a chance of showers in the morning, showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, becoming windy with gusts to 40 mph, high near 60.

FRIDAY – APR 10 – Partly sunny and windy, gusts to 40 mph, cooler with highs in the low 50s.

SATURDAY – APR 11 – Sunny, high in the upper 50s.

EASTER SUNDAY – APR 12 – Partly sunny in the morning then becoming mostly cloudy, high near 60, rain likely after midnight.

MONDAY – APR 13 – Rain heavy at times in the morning then a chance of showers in the afternoon, mostly cloudy, high in the upper 60s.

TUESDAY – APR 14 – Partly sunny with a chance of a shower, high in the low 60s.

MARINE FORECAST: TODAY – Light and variable winds, seas less than one foot.

OUTLOOK – A gale watch has been posted effective between 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon until 8 p.m. Friday evening; conditions lowering to below advisory levels on Saturday.
