Mostly sunny and seasonably warm today! Sunny and a little cooler on Thursday! Chance of showers Thursday night into Friday! Nice and dry weather expected for the weekend!

Good morning!

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures range from near 70 in Clifton down to near 60 further inland, winds are calm or light southwesterly. Humidity is on the high side with dew points near 70.

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR AUGUST 5TH:

AVERAGE HIGH: 85 AVERAGE LOW: 66

RECORD HIGH: 96 – 2005 RECORD LOW: 56 – 1994

YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 79 LOW: 69 PRECIPITATION: 1.59

Yesterday Tropical storm Isaias moved about 50 miles west of Clifton giving our area 1.59″ of rain while western parts of New Jersey received 4-6 inches. Winds were very strong in our area causing widespread power outages. My station recorded a 42.5 mph gust which was the highest wind speed since Hurricane Sandy, although since the station has many trees I estimate the winds actually gusted to 50-55 mph here.

Today will be a much quieter weather day with plenty of sunshine and temperatures slightly above normal. The humidity will be a little high this morning but drop by mid day.

Tomorrow again will be sunny but temperatures will be a little cooler as we will have more of an onshore wind.

There will be a chance of some showers Thursday night into Friday as a weak trough moves into the area.

The weekend should be dry with temperatures a little above seasonably levels.

At this time early next weeks looks to be quite warm with a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms both Monday and Tuesday.
