A weak front is offshore as high pressure builds into the area from the northwest. Today will become a mostly sunny day after some early morning cloudiness. Another nice late summer day on Thursday as high pressure will be in our area, temperatures again will be slightly below normal with comfortable humidities.

The Bermuda high will then dominate our weather Friday through early next week with higher temperatures and humidity. Most of the area will stay dry except for a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms Sunday and again on Monday.

After yesterday’s cool day today will be warmer with highs in the low 80s which is near seasonable levels. Skies will be mostly sunny. A cold front will likely give us some showers and thunderstorms around 7-8 p.m. this evening.

High pressure will dominate our weather much of the rest of this week with dry conditions. Temperatures will be at or slightly below normal Tuesday through Thursday and rise to slightly above normal readings Friday through the weekend. The only chance of showers will be around Sunday with a cold front.

No excessive heat is expected here but in some of the western states are having record heat with some places having their hottest August temperatures.

A slow moving cold front will move into our area today which will give our area a chance of showers and thunderstorms. The showers will be slow moving so there is a chance of heavy rain in some of the storms. The front will only push just south of our region Thursday and Friday with showers again possible. With more clouds and an onshore wind temperatures will be lower than today with somewhat lower humidity as dew points drop into the upper 60s.
