Sunny and cold today! Heavy snow from late Wednesday afternoon through early Thursday morning with accumulations of 14-18 inches expected along with strong winds! Mainly dry and seasonably cold Friday through the weekend!

Skies are mainly clear early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures range from near 30 in Clifton down to the low 20s further inland, winds are from the northwest around 10 mph.

High pressure building into our area will give our area a sunny day today with seasonably cold temperatures. We may see some high clouds filter in late in the day.

The coastal storm that we have been tracking is expected to intensify off the Delaware coast and then move northeast. Snow from the storm will begin around 4 p.m. and become heavy at times Wednesday night before tapering off Thursday morning and ending by noon. Winds gusting to 35 mph will cause near blizzard conditions and a winter storm watch is in effect. Total accumulations is expected to be between 14-18 inches with some higher amounts possible.

Skies will clear by Thursday night and Friday through the weekend looks to be dry, temperatures will be below normal Friday and Saturday and near normal on Sunday.

TONIGHT – Increasing cloudiness, low in the low 20s.

WEDNESDAY – DEC 16 – Becoming cloudy with snow developing around 4 p.m. becoming heavy at times at night, windy with near blizzard conditions possible, high in the low 30s.

THURSDAY – DEC 17 – Snow likely in the morning with clearing late in the day, breezy, high in the low 30s. Total snow accumulations 14-18 inches.

FRIDAY – DEC 18 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 30s.

SATURDAY – DEC 19 – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 30s.

SUNDAY – DEC 20 – Partly sunny, high in the low 40s.

MONDAY – DEC 21 – Partly sunny, high in the mid 40s.

MARINE FORECAST: TODAY – Northwest winds to 10 knots, seas 2 feet.

OUTLOOK – A storm watch as been issued effective between 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon until 10 a.m. Thursday morning; small craft advisories likely to continued Thursday afternoon through Saturday mainly for high seas.
