Becoming windy and colder after early snow showers today! Mainly dry weather Thursday through the weekend! Chance of rain or snow early next week!


Good morning!

Skies are cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and there are some snow showers falling over parts of the area. Temperatures range from the low 30s in Clifton down to the mid 20s further inland. Winds are light from the southwest.

A cold front will move through the area this morning accompanied by some snow showers, there may be a dusting of snow accumulation especially further inland. Gusty northwest winds will gust to 30-35 mph by this afternoon. High temperature near 40 this morning will fall into the 30s by this afternoon.

Generally dry weather Thursday and Friday with near seasonable temperatures. A cold front will cross the area during the day on Friday.

Dry and colder over the weekend. Saturday will feel the coldest with highs in the 30s with gusty winds. Sunny with diminishing winds on Sunday.

There is a chance of rain or snow early next week as a storm develops off the Carolina coast. Most computer models have the storm too far to our south and east to cause any significant weather in our area.

THURSDAY – JAN 21 – Partly sunny, high in the low 40s.

FRIDAY – JAN 22 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 40s.

SATURDAY – JAN 23 – Sunny, windy and cold, high only in the low 30s.

SUNDAY – JAN 24 – Sunny, high in the mid 30s.

MONDAY – JAN 25 – Increasing cloudiness, high in the upper 30s, chance of rain or snow after midnight.

TUESDAY – JAN 26 – Mostly cloudy in the morning with a chance of rain or snow, becoming partly sunny in the afternoon, high in the upper 30s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 10 p.m. this evening for northwest winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 3-5 feet.

OUTLOOK – Advisories expected Thursday through the day on Saturday; no advisories expected Saturday night into Sunday.
