Rain developing this morning with a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening! Clearing and very windy tonight through the day on Monday! Dry and mild on Tuesday! More rain Wednesday into Thursday followed by much cooler air Friday and Saturday!

Skies are mainly cloudy early on this Sunday morning with not much spread in temperatures with 49 degrees at my station in Clifton down to 45 at Ramsey. Winds are light out of the east-southeast.

A low pressure system will move into our area this morning with rain developing around 9-10 a.m. and may become moderate to heavy at times into early this afternoon. A warm front will pass to our north early this afternoon and the rain will become more scattered. A strong cold front will cross the area this evening preceded by a line of showers and thunderstorms with gusty winds likely. After the front colder and drier air will filter into our area along with strong winds up to 45 mph into Monday with another wind advisory in effect.

Dry weather with moderating temperatures on Tuesday.

Another in a series of low pressure systems will affect our area Wednesday into Thursday with a soaking rain again possible.

Much colder Thursday with the rain possibly changing to snow across higher elevations of extreme northwest New Jersey.

Friday will be unseasonably cold with lows in the 20s and highs only in the low 40s.

At this point the weekend looks to be dry. Temperatures will be below normal on Saturday and rise to near or slightly above normal on Sunday.,

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – MAR 28 – Cloudy with rain developing around 9-10 a.m. chance of thunderstorms this afternoon, high in the upper 60s.

TONIGHT – Cloudy this evening with showers and thunderstorms followed by clearing later at night, windy with gusts to 45 mph, a wind advisory is in effect. Lows in the upper 30s. Total rainfall amounts around one inch.

MONDAY – MAR 29 – Sunny and windy, high in the mid 50s, winds gusting to 45 mph in the morning slowly diminishing in the afternoon.

TUESDAY – MAR 30 – Sunny and milder, high in the low 60s.

WEDNESDAY – MAR 31 – Cloudy with rain likely mainly after 2 p.m., high in the mid 60s.

THURSDAY – APR 1 – Mostly cloudy with rain likely until 2 p.m., windy and colder, high in the upper 40s.

FRIDAY – APR 2 – Mostly sunny, windy and chilly, highs only in the low 40s.

SATURDAY – APR 3 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 50s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. this evening for southerly winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 4-7 feet.

OUTLOOK – A gale warning has been posted effective between 6 p.m. this evening until noon on Monday; no advisories expected Monday evening through the day on Wednesday; advisories probable Wednesday night into Thursday with some gales possible on Thursday.
