Skies are clear early on this Friday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 36 in Clifton down to 29 at High Point, winds are light from the northwest.

High pressure building closer to our area from the southeast states will give us a mostly sunny day and it will be milder with highs in the 60s. Winds will still be brisk but not as windy as yesterday.

Saturday will be the best day of the weekend with mostly sunny skies and mild temperatures.

An area of low pressure will give us rain mainly from late Saturday night into Sunday morning, rainfall amounts will be near an inch.

Dry weather with a warming trend is expected next week. Temperatures will be near normal on Monday and then rise to well above normal by the middle of the week.

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – APR 23 – Sunny, breezy and not as cool today, high in the mid 60s, winds gusting to 30 mph.

TONIGHT – Mostly clear, low in the low 40s.

SATURDAY – APR 24 – Sunny in the morning then increasing clouds in the afternoon, high near 70.

SUNDAY – APR 25 – Cloudy with rain mainly in the morning, high in the mid 60s.

MONDAY – APR 26 – Sunny, high in the mid 60s.

TUESDAY – APR 27 – Sunny, high in the low 70s.

WEDNESDAY – APR 28 – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 70s.

THURSDAY – APR 29 – Partly sunny, high in the upper 70s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. this evening for westerly winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 3-5 feet.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected during the day on Saturday; advisories expected Saturday night through Sunday night; no advisories expected much of next week.
