Good morning everyone!

Another very warm and steamy morning on this Wednesday with temperatures at 5 a.m. ranging from 78 in Clifton down to 67 at Walpack. Skies are mostly clear and the winds are calm or light southwesterly.

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR JUNE 30TH:

RECORD HIGH: 95 – 2010 RECORD LOW: 50 – 1988

YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 98 (New Record) LOW: 76 PRECIPITATION: NONE

One day more of excessive heat and humidity as the Bermuda high pressure continues to dominate our weather. High temperatures will again be well up into the 90s and with the humidity will cause heat indexes to rise to near 110. An excessive heat warning is in effect. There is a better chance of late day and early evening showers and thunderstorms with some storms possibly strong to severe.

The Bermuda high pressure will be moving further offshore and a cold front will cross our area Thursday night with showers and thunderstorms with some heavy rain likely. With the clouds and precipitation temperatures will not be as hot, but the humidity will only slowly decrease.

Showers will continue to be likely on Friday with some heavy rain again possible, high temperatures will only rise to the upper 70s.

Some showers are still possible Saturday and Sunday with below normal temperatures.

Monday looks to be the best day of the holiday weekend with more sunshine and seasonably warm temperatures.

Hot weather may return for the middle of next week.
