Skies are mostly cloudy on this Wednesday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 64 in Clifton down to 55 at Walpack. Winds are mainly calm.

Last year on this date Hurricane Isaias caused damaging winds and heavy rain.

Today will be a mainly cloudy day with high temperatures only in the upper 70s. There is only a low chance of an evening shower as a trough of low pressure will be just offshore. This system may cause heavy rain over parts of Eastern Long Island.

Thursday will be partly sunny as a weak high pressure builds into the area, with more sunshine high temperatures will be a couple of degrees warmer than today.

After having a nice break of comfortable weather the last few days the heat will return on Friday and may last through much of next week as the Bermuda high pressure builds into the area. There is only a low chance of showers on Sunday otherwise dry conditions will prevail. The humidity will not be too high Friday and Saturday but will increase on Sunday and last into next week.

SATURDAY – AUG 7 – Partly sunny, high in the upper 80s.

SUNDAY – AUG 8 – Mostly sunny and becoming more humid with a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, high near 90.

MONDAY – AUG 9 – Mostly sunny, hot and humid, high near 90.

TUESDAY – AUG 10 – Mostly sunny, hot and humid, high in the low 90s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory will be in effect between 2 p.m. today through 6 p.m. Thursday evening for northeast winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 4-7 feet. Point Pleasant Beach’s ocean temperature is 73 degrees.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Thursday night through Monday.
