Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 71 in Clifton down to 67 at Walpack. The humidity is high and there are some scattered showers over Sussex County.

The Bermuda high pressure will give our area a southwest flow of very hot and humid air today through Friday with temperatures well up into the 90s all three days along with dew points in the 70s. This will cause heat indexes to rise to near 110, an excessive heat warning is in effect. With the heat and humidity we will have a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms each day.

A cold front will cross the area on Saturday with another chance of showers and thunderstorms. The front will be followed by less humid air by Saturday night.

More seasonable temperatures along with lower humidity Sunday through Tuesday with mostly sunny skies each day.

TUESDAY – AUG 17 – Partly sunny, high in the mid 80s.
