After nearly a week of cool and comfortable weather summer will a comeback today with quite warm temperatures as high pressure builds into the area. We should enjoy mostly sunny skies today with quite warm temperatures but the humidity will not be too high with dew points mainly only around 60.

The weekend’s weather will be quite warm and mostly dry but a weak low pressure area may cause some showers Saturday night. Humidity will slowly rise with dew points in the 60s.

Most of next week will be quite warm to hot with increasing humidity by later in the week. Monday and Tuesday should stay dry but Wednesday and Thursday may have some afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms.

The front that gave us the clouds and cool conditions yesterday will be moving further offshore and we should see some partial sunshine today with temperatures not as cool with most highs in the lower 80s.

Quite warm Friday through the weekend with only a low chance of showers late Saturday into Sunday. Highs will be near 90 on Friday and in the upper 80s over the weekend as we will have more clouds. Humidity will be moderate with dew points in the 60s.

The Bermuda high pressure ridge will dominate our weather much of next week with hot temperatures and an increase in humidity. Most of the time it will be dry but there is a chance of afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday.

Last year on this date Hurricane Isaias caused damaging winds and heavy rain.

Today will be a mainly cloudy day with high temperatures only in the upper 70s. There is only a low chance of an evening shower as a trough of low pressure will be just offshore. This system may cause heavy rain over parts of Eastern Long Island.

Thursday will be partly sunny as a weak high pressure builds into the area, with more sunshine high temperatures will be a couple of degrees warmer than today.

After having a nice break of comfortable weather the last few days the heat will return on Friday and may last through much of next week as the Bermuda high pressure builds into the area. There is only a low chance of showers on Sunday otherwise dry conditions will prevail. The humidity will not be too high Friday and Saturday but will increase on Sunday and last into next week.

High pressure will give our area a pleasant day today with continued comfortable humidity and temperatures slightly below normal. There will be less wind than yesterday along with some more high cloudiness.

Continued mainly dry with comfortable temperatures and humidity Wednesday and Thursday.

A warming trend will start on Friday and be with us through the weekend and into most of next week as the Bermuda high builds into our area. Temperatures will be mainly in the upper 80s to near 90 Friday through Sunday and be in the low 90s through at least the middle of next week. The only chance of precipitation will be in afternoon or evening showers both Saturday and Sunday as the humidity will also increase.

High pressure building into our area will give us a nice early August day with plenty of sunshine, temperatures will reach the low 80s and the dew points will fall to the comfortable 50s.

Continued nice weather Tuesday and Wednesday as high pressure dominates, highs both days will be in the low 80s with comfortable humidity.

At this point Thursday will have the best chance of showers as a weak front moves into our area.

AVERAGE TEMPERATURE: 76.3 – Which is near normal: Highest temperature 96 – on the 6th ; Lowest – 55- 31st (coolest July temperature since 2007) – 8 days had temperatures of 90 degrees or higher –

PRECIPITATION: 7.56″ 9th wettest since 1973. Highest daily rainfall 1.93″ on the 29th (Severe weather caused 5 tornadoes in New Jersey) Many stations in our area had more rainfall with 11.09″ at Central Park and 8.91″ at Newark both had their 3rd wettest July.
