Temperatures continue to be unseasonably warm with readings at 5 a.m. ranging from 74 in Clifton down to 66 at High Point. Winds are from the southeast and a little gusty, the humidity remains high.

A slow moving front will approach our area today and we should have cloudy skies with occasional showers this morning into the mid afternoon. Heavier rain with some gusty thunderstorms are expected with the heaviest rain from late this afternoon and ending by daybreak on Friday. Rainfall totals of 1-2 inches with some higher amounts are likely and a flash flood watch is in effect. Also some of the storms tonight may be accompanied by strong gusty winds and even a slight chance of a weak tornado especially to our north and west. The humidity will remain high with dew points near 70.

Sunshine will return on Friday and it will become less humid, temperatures will be near seasonable levels.

Quite nice weather for the first weekend of fall with plenty of sunshine both days along with low humidity and continued near or slightly above normal temperatures.

The nice fall weather should continued Monday through Wednesday.

High pressure off the Canadian Maritimes and a slow moving cold front approaching from the west will give us a southeasterly flow of warm and humid air today. Skies will be mostly cloudy and there is a chance of some mainly light showers during the day.

The front will be closer to the region on Thursday and it will continue to be warm and humid. Showers and thunderstorms will develop with the heaviest rain expected late Thursday into early Friday morning with 1-2″ of rain expected with higher amounts possible.

Cooler and less humid air will follow the front and we should see clearing by Friday afternoon, but there will still be a chance of a lingering shower.

The first weekend of fall looks to be quite pleasant with plenty of sunshine both days along with near seasonable temperatures and low humidity.

Strong high pressure centered over the Canadian Maritimes will give our area an onshore southeast flow of air. Temperatures will be near seasonable levels with highs in the mid to upper 70s. Dew points will gradually rise to the 60s by this afternoon.

Wednesday will be a mostly cloudy day with somewhat warmer temperatures and humidity. There is a chance of showers as a slow moving front to our west approaches our area. Southeast flow will become brisk in the afternoon with gusts up to 25 mph.

The slow moving front will slowly move through the area which will likely cause showers Thursday into Friday. Temperatures will be near seasonable. The humidity will continue to be on the high side on Thursday but gradually lower by Friday afternoon.

At this point the weekend looks mainly dry with near seasonable temperatures and low humidity.
