Today will be a dry day and it will continue to be mild with highs in the 50s. Skies will be mainly cloudy but we may see some breaks in the clouds to give us some partial sunshine this afternoon. The temperature at midnight is expected to be near 48 degrees with cloudy skies.

A frontal system will give us rain on Saturday but temperatures will continue to be unseasonably mild.

A lower chance of showers on Sunday, again it will be unseasonably mild, but a cold front will cross the area in the afternoon. Temperatures in the 50s will fall to near freezing by midnight on Sunday.

Monday will be much colder and breezy with lows in the 20s and highs in the 30s which is near normal, but will feel frigid compared to the very mild air that we have had the last few days.

Mainly dry weather the rest of next week with a slow moderation in temperatures.

A weak front to our south will continue to give us cloudy skies with only a low chance of some light rain or drizzle but most of the time it will remain dry.

Friday looks to be dry with mild temperatures as a weak high pressure moves into the area. It should remain dry for New Year’s Eve festivities and the midnight temperature should be in the mid 40s.

A strong frontal system will be in our area on the weekend with rain likely from before dawn on New Year’s Day through Sunday night. Temperatures will be unseasonably mild but as the front moves through much colder air will move into our area and the precipitation may change to snow before ending early Monday morning. The GFS computer model is indicating some significant snowfall in our area while most of the other models has the precipitation ending before any accumulation in our area.

Monday will be cold and windy but temperatures will only be a few degrees below normal.

The cold air will be short lived as milder air will be moving in for Tuesday and Wednesday along with dry conditions.

Friday still looks to be the best day of this week with dry conditions and highs in the 50s.

Significant rain is possible on New Year’s Day as a slow moving front approaches from the west, temperatures despite the rain and clouds should rise well up into the 50s.

The cold front will cross the area Sunday night preceded by some showers mostly in the morning, temperatures again will be mild but become much cooler after the frontal passage.

Dry and colder early next week but temperatures will only drop to near normal for early January.

Today we should have mostly sunny skies as low pressure moves well off the coast and a weak high moves into the area. Temperatures will continue to be above normal with highs near 50. Winds will be a little brisk with gusts to 25 mph.

Monday we should see an increase in clouds along with cooler temperatures. A weak disturbance may give us some light rain late at night that may be mixed with frozen precipitation well to our north and west.

Milder air will move into the area for Tuesday and Wednesday but rain will be likely Tuesday night into Wednesday as a stronger low pressure moves through the area.

Thursday will continue to be mild with a low chance of a shower in the morning.

A warm front just to our south will move to our north by late this morning, light rain from this system should continue most of this morning but taper off to occasional showers this afternoon. Temperatures will become milder on a southwest flow with highs in the upper 40s to near 50 degrees.

Sunshine returns for Sunday with continued mild temperatures as high pressure moves into the area, it will be a little breezy at times.

At this time Monday and Tuesday look to stay dry, Monday will be cool but it will become milder on Tuesday.

The best chance of precipitation now appears to be from Tuesday night into Wednesday but with mild temperatures the precipitation should be in the form of rain.

At the point Thursday and Friday will be mainly dry. Mild temperatures again are likely on Thursday with somewhat cooler temperatures on Friday but still staying above normal for this time of year.

The weak disturbance which caused the overnight light snow will be moving offshore and the snow should end by dawn. We should see some sunshine by later this morning and temperatures will rise into the upper 40s which will more than likely melt the snow that is on the ground this morning. We should see an increase in clouds again by this evening.

Christmas Day will be mild but with periods of mainly light rain, some of the rain will start off as a mixture of sleet or snow mainly well inland. High temperatures will be near 50 degrees.

Clearing on Sunday with continued mild temperatures but it will be a bit windy.

Unsettled weather much of next week as a few weak disturbances move through our area. Temperatures however will average above normal so any precipitation should be mainly in the form of rain.
