Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Friday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 37 in Clifton down to 30 at High Point and Vernon. Winds are mainly calm or light southerly.

Weak high pressure just offshore will give us a milder day today with a light southerly flow. Skies will start off mostly cloudy but become mostly sunny by this afternoon.

A warm front will move to our north Saturday morning associated with some light showers and followed by a strong southerly flow of very mild air, record highs are expected over much of the region. Most of the day will be dry but a cold front will likely give us more showers Saturday evening along with strong northwest winds and cooling temperatures.

Sunday should be a sunny day and it will be cooler, but highs should still be slightly above normal. Winds will be brisk in the morning but lower in the afternoon.

Much of next week will be dry and mild with most highs in the low 50s, Thursday may be our warmest day of next week with a high near 60.

TONIGHT – Increasing cloudiness with a chance of showers mainly after 3 a.m., low in the upper 30s.

SATURDAY – DEC 11 – Cloudy, windy and very mild with showers likely, high in the upper 60s, wind gusts to 35 mph possible.

SUNDAY – DEC 12 – Sunny and cooler with diminishing winds, high near 50.

MONDAY – DEC 13 – Sunny, high in the low 50s.

TUESDAY – DEC 14 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 50s.

WEDNESDAY – DEC 15 – Partly sunny, high in the low 50s.

THURSDAY – DEC 16 – Mostly cloudy, high near 60.

MARINE FORECAST: TODAY – South-southwest wind to 10 knots, seas less than 1 foot.

OUTLOOK: A gale warning has been posted effective between 6 a.m. Saturday morning until 4 a.m. Sunday morning; small craft advisories likely Sunday morning; no advisories expected Sunday afternoon through Tuesday.
