Mild with rain developing this afternoon and ending early Wednesday morning! Clearing and very mild on Wednesday! Wintery mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain late Thursday into Friday morning!

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 34 in Clifton down to 24 at Walpack. Winds are mainly calm.

We should see an increase in clouds this morning with rain developing mainly after 4 p.m., southerly winds will increase this afternoon and it will be mild with highs in the upper 50s.

There is a chance of showers early Wednesday followed by gradual clearing, very mild air ahead of a cold front that will cross the area in the afternoon or evening, highs will be well up into the 60s.

Colder air will filter into our region on Thursday with a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain and rain which will end early Friday morning, snow and ice accumulations will be around an inch.

Colder than normal weather for the weekend into early next week, we should stay dry but still have to watch for a potential storm that right now is expected to stay well out to sea and not affect our weather on Sunday.

TODAY – Becoming cloudy with rain developing mainly after 4 p.m. breezy in the afternoon, high in the upper 50s.

TONIGHT – Rain mainly before 11 p.m., breezy and unseasonably mild with lows staying steady in the upper 50s.

WEDNESDAY – FEB 23 – Cloudy till mid morning with a chance of a shower then gradual clearing in the afternoon, very mild, high in the mid 60s.

THURSDAY – FEB 24 – Cloudy and colder with a chance of mixed rain, snow, sleet and freezing rain developing in the afternoon and continuing at night, snow accumulations around an inch. high in the upper 30s.

FRIDAY – FEB 25 – Rain mainly before 1 p.m., high near 40.

SATURDAY – FEB 26 – Sunny, high in the mid 30s.

SUNDAY – FEB 27 – Partly sunny, high near 40.

MONDAY – FEB 28 – Mostly sunny and quite cold, high only near 30.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory will be in effect from 1 p.m. this afternoon through 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon for southerly winds gusting to 30 knots, seas – 5-8 feet.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected late Wednesday afternoon through Thursday night; advisories expected Friday through Saturday morning; no advisories expected Saturday afternoon and night.
