Skies are mostly clear early on this Sunday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 37 in Clifton down to 30 at High Point. Winds are from the west 5-10 mph.

Today we will have cooler weather and a weak cold front will cause increasing clouds by this afternoon with a slight chance of sprinkles and flurries mainly to our north and west.

Unseasonably cold on Monday as an Arctic high pressure builds into our area. Daytime highs will only be in the 30s and with winds gusting to 30 mph will bring wind chills down to the single digits to the teens.

After a very cold early morning on Tuesday with some records possible, the air will moderate somewhat and it will not be as cold as on Monday.

Dry weather with moderating temperatures on Wednesday.

Much milder Thursday and Friday but a frontal system will likely give us rain mainly from Thursday afternoon through Thursday night with only a chance of a shower on Friday.

The beginning of next weekend looks dry with near seasonable temperatures.

TUESDAY – MAR 29 – Sunny, high in the low 40s.

WEDNESDAY – MAR 30 – Partly sunny, high in the mid 40s.

THURSDAY – MAR 31 – Cloudy with showers likely mainly after 2 p.m., milder, high in the mid 60s.

FRIDAY – APR 1 – Partly sunny with a chance of a shower, high in the low 60s.

SATURDAY – APR 2 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 50s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 5 p.m. Monday afternoon for westerly winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 3-6 feet.

OUTLOOK – Advisories likely to continue Monday night through Tuesday night; no advisories expected on Wednesday; advisories again likely on Thursday.
