Rain this morning with possible drizzle this afternoon and tonight! Rain again on Thursday possibly heavy at times! Mainly dry Friday through the weekend with only a low chance of an afternoon shower on Saturday! Warmer next week!

Rain is falling over the area early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 44 in Clifton down to 40 at High Point. Winds are from the northeast averaging around 10 mph.

Low pressure will be moving offshore this morning and the steady rain should end by noon but the afternoon will remain cloudy and cool with a chance of some drizzle.

After a short break rain will return on Thursday as another low pressure system moves through the area. Rain should develop around 8 a.m. and possibly become heavy at times in the afternoon and evening with a chance of some thunderstorms. Rainfall amounts will be near 1 inch.

Friday looks to be dry with somewhat milder temperatures as a weak high pressure moves through the area.

The weekend looks mainly dry with near seasonable temperatures with only a low chance of an afternoon shower on Saturday.

A warming trend with mainly dry conditions next week. High temperatures will be in the 60s on Monday and rise to near 70 Tuesday through at least Thursday.

TONIGHT – Cloudy with a chance of a shower after midnight, low in the upper 40s.

THURSDAY – APR 7 – Rain developing by 8 a.m. possibly becoming heavy at times in the afternoon and at night, high in the low 50s.

FRIDAY – APR 8 – Partly sunny, high in the low 60s.

SATURDAY – APR 9 – Partly sunny with a chance of an afternoon shower, high in the upper 50s.

SUNDAY – APR 10 – Partly sunny, high in the mid 50s.

MONDAY – APR 11 – Mostly sunny and milder, high in the mid 60s.

TUESDAY – APR 12 – Partly sunny and quite mild, high in the low 70s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Thursday evening for northeast winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 4-7 feet.

OUTLOOK – Advisories still possible on Friday; no advisories expected Saturday through Monday.
