Rain ending early this morning followed by clearing but staying cool and breezy! Mainly dry with moderating temperatures Wednesday through the weekend!

Skies are cloudy and light rain is falling across the area with some snow across the higher elevations to our north and west. Temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 40 in Clifton down to 30 at Vernon. Winds are gusty out of the north.

The low pressure that has been responsible for the heavy rain and strong winds is now just off the New Jersey coast and will be moving away from our area and moving to the Canadian Maritimes. Rain should end by around 7 a.m. and skies will become partly sunny this afternoon, however it will be breezy and cool.

Mainly dry weather can be expected Wednesday through the weekend. A slow moderation in temperatures with Friday being the warmest day with highs near 70. Slightly cooler on the weekend as high pressure to our east gives our area an onshore flow.

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – APR 19 – Rain ending early this morning then becoming partly sunny and continued breezy and cool, high in the low 50s.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy, low in the upper 30s.

WEDNESDAY – APR 20 – Sunny, high near 60.

THURSDAY – APR 21 – Mostly cloudy, high in the low 60s.

FRIDAY – APR 22 – Sunny, high near 70.

SATURDAY – APR 23 – Partly sunny, high in the low 60s.

SUNDAY – APR 24 – Partly sunny, high in the low 60s.

MONDAY – APR 25 – Partly sunny, high in the low 60s.

MARINE FORECAST: A gale warning is in effect until 10 a.m. this morning for westerly winds gusting to 40 knots, seas 8-11 feet. Small craft advisories expected to continue through tonight;

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Wednesday through Saturday.
