Mostly sunny and very hot today with some record highs likely! Much cooler tomorrow with showers and thunderstorms likely in the afternoon and night! Bit warmer on Thursday with more afternoon and nighttime showers and thunderstorms!

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and it is quite warm with temperatures at 5 a.m. ranging from 73 in Clifton down to 59 at Walpack and Sandyston. Winds are calm or light southwesterly.

High pressure off the coast will give us a west-southwest flow of very hot air into our region today, some record highs are likely as temperatures reach well up into the 90s. The humidity will not be oppressive with dew points mainly in the low 60s.

A back door cold front will move to our south late tonight with an onshore flow of much cooler air on Wednesday, highs will be around 20 degrees lower than today. Also there will likely be some showers and thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Thursday will be a bit warmer than Wednesday but after a mainly dry morning more showers and thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon and evening.

Still a chance of showers Friday morning, then clearing by the afternoon with near seasonable temperatures.

This upcoming weekend looks to be quite nice with plenty of sunshine both days along with seasonably warm temperatures and low humidity.

FRIDAY – JUN 3 – Chance of a morning shower then becoming mostly sunny, high in the upper 70s.

SATURDAY – JUN 4 – Sunny, high near 80.

SUNDAY – JUN 5 – Mostly sunny, high near 80.

MONDAY – JUN 6 – Partly sunny, high in the upper 70s.

MARINE FORECAST: TODAY – Westerly winds to 10 knots, seas 1-2 feet.
