Skies are mainly clear early on this Friday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 62 in Clifton down to 52 at Basking Ridge and Pequest. Winds are calm or light northerly and the humidity is comfortable with dew points mainly in the 50s.

High pressure in our area will give us a nice day again today with sunny skies, seasonably warm temperatures and comfortable humidity.

Enjoyable late summer weather is expected for the weekend with seasonably warm temperatures continuing. Saturday will be sunny with dew points in the comfortable 50s. Clouds and an increase in humidity for Sunday but we should remain dry as high pressure slowly moves offshore.

Just like last week the best chance of showers will be Monday and Tuesday. The humidity will be high and some showers may be heavy at times.

Fair weather returns for Wednesday and Thursday as high pressure again builds into our area, temperatures will continue to be above normal but the humidity will lower.

TODAY – SEP 9 – Sunny, high in the low 80s.

TONIGHT – Mostly clear, low near 60.

SATURDAY – SEP 10 – Sunny, high in the mid 80s.

SUNDAY – SEP 11 – Mostly cloudy and more humid, high near 80.

MONDAY – SEP 12 – Mostly cloudy and humid with a chance of showers, high near 80.

TUESDAY – SEP 13 – Mostly cloudy and humid with showers likely, high near 80.

WEDNESDAY – SEP 14 – Mostly sunny and less humid, high in the low 80s.

THURSDAY – SEP 15 – Sunny, high in the low 80s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory continues in effect until 6 p.m. Saturday evening for northeast winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 4-7 feet. Belmar’s ocean temperature is 76 degrees. There is a high risk of rip currents caused by Hurricane Earl which was located well offshore.

OUTLOOK: A small craft advisories still possible for high seas on Sunday; no advisories expected for Monday and Tuesday.
