Mostly cloudy today with showers and possibly some strong thunderstorms! Mainly dry much of the rest of this week with near normal temperatures!

Skies are overcast early on this Sunday morning and there is some light rain falling in parts of the area. Temperatures range from 57 in Clifton down to 49 at Walpack and Pequest, winds are calm or light southwest.

A warm front will move through the area later this morning followed by a cold front tonight. Showers should develop mainly after 2p.m. with possibly thunderstorms, some storms may be accompanied by gusty winds and small hail.

High pressure will dominate our weather the rest of this week with near seasonable temperatures.

Some tropical moisture is possible from what remains of Tropical Storm Ian on Saturday which is now strengthening in the Caribbean.

The Forecast:

Today – Sep 25 – Mostly cloudy with showers and possibly thunderstorms mainly after 2 p.m., some storms may be accompanied by strong gusty winds and hail, high in the mid 70s.

Tonight – Showers likely with possibly some thunderstorms, low near 60.

Monday – Sep 26 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 70s

Tuesday – Sep 27 – Sunny, high in the low 70s.

Wednesday – Sep 28 – Sunny, high near 70.

Thursday – Sep 29 – Sunny, high in the upper 60s.

Friday – Sep 30 – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 60s.

Saturday – Oct 1 – Partly sunny, high near 70.

Marine Forecast: A small craft advisory will be in effect valid between 11 a.m. this morning until 4 p.m. Monday afternoon for southwest winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 3-6 feet.

Outlook: No advisories expected Monday night through Thursday night, no advisories expected for Friday.
