Cloudy and milder with rain developing late this morning and ending by early this evening and becoming quite windy! Mostly sunny, breezy and cooler on Thursday! Mostly sunny with less wind on Friday! Mild on Saturday with showers possible followed by clearing and cooler weather for Sunday!

Skies are mostly cloudy to cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and early temperatures range from 36 in Clifton down to 29 at Basking Ridge. Winds are mainly calm.

A frontal system approaching from the south and west will cause rain to develop around 10 a.m. and continue to around 6 p.m., rain may be moderate to heavy at times. Rainfall amounts will average between 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. Southerly winds will cause temperatures to rapidly rise into the 50s with wind gusts to 40 mph. The cold front associated with this system will pass our area in the evening followed by clearing with a brisk westerly wind.

Thursday will be cooler but we will have plenty of sunshine, gusty winds in the morning will slowly diminish during the afternoon.

After a chilly morning on Friday it will become milder in the afternoon along with plenty of sunshine and less wind.

Saturday will be quite mild ahead of a cold front that will likely cause showers mainly in the morning.

Sunday will be a sunny and cooler day.

Another frontal system may cause some showers Monday into Tuesday along with temperatures at or slightly above normal.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy early then gradual clearing, breezy with gusts to 30 mph, low near 30.

THURSDAY – DEC 1 – Sunny, breezy and cooler, high in the mid 40s.

FRIDAY – DEC 2- Sunny, high near 50.

SATURDAY – DEC 3 – Cloudy with showers likely mainly in the morning, high near 60.

SUNDAY – DEC 4 – Sunny and cooler, high in the upper 40s.

MONDAY – DEC 5 – Partly sunny with a chance of rain, high near 50.

TUESDAY – DEC 6 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain, high in the mid 50s.

MARINE FORECAST: A gale warning has been posted effective between 10 a.m. this morning through 6 a.m. Thursday morning for southerly winds becoming westerly and gusting to 45 knots, seas 6-9 feet.

OUTLOOK: – Small craft advisories expected to continue on Thursday; no advisories expected for Friday; advisories expected on Saturday; no advisories expected for Sunday.
