High pressure will build into the area for New Year’s Day producing sunny skies and continued mild temperatures.

The well above normal temperatures should continue much of next week with showers again possible from Tuesday afternoon through early Thursday morning.

Fair weather is then expected for Friday with highs closer to normal in the low 40s.

High pressure ridge offshore will continue to pump a southwesterly flow of quite mild air along with mostly sunny skies, most highs will be well up into the 50s and with light winds it will be another very comfortable winter day.

Staying mild over the holiday weekend but showers are likely mainly Saturday afternoon through the early morning hours of New Year’s Day. Rainfall amounts should be between a quarter and half of an inch.

New Year’s Day will be sunny but a little breezy with highs again in the 50s.

A frontal system will likely give us rain from around noontime on Saturday through the early morning hours of New Year’s Day. Temperatures will continue to be well above normal. Rainfall amounts of 1/2 to one inch is expected.

Rain chances increase for New Year’s Eve into New Year’s day as a frontal system moves through the area. Most of the rain will fall New Year’s Eve night hampering any outside activities.
