Skies are mainly clear early on this Friday morning and with nearly calm winds temperatures were quite chilly with early readings ranging from 28 in Clifton down to 18 at Pequest and Walpack.

Strong high pressure over our area today will give us plenty of sunshine, light winds and highs a few degrees warmer than yesterday.

A frontal system will give us showers tomorrow, but with a brisk southerly flow temperatures will rise to well up into the 50s.

Dry and cooler weather can be expected Sunday and Monday as high pressure moves back into our area.

Another frontal system will give us some more showers but with again mild temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday followed by dry and cooler weather for Thursday.

TODAY – DEC 2 – Sunny, high in the upper 40s.

TONIGHT – Increasing cloudiness, low in the upper 30s rising to the low 40s by daybreak.

SATURDAY – DEC 3 – Cloudy and mild with showers mainly before 4 p.m., high in the upper 40s, rainfall amounts averaging around 1/3 inch.

SUNDAY – DEC 4 – Mostly sunny and cooler, high in the mid 40s.

MONDAY – DEC 5 – Sunny, high in the upper 40s.

TUESDAY – DEC 6 – Cloudy and mild with showers, high in the mid 50s.

WEDNESDAY – DEC 7 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, high in the mid 50s.

THURSDAY – DEC 8 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 40s.

MARINE FORECAST: TODAY – South-southwest wind to 10 knots, seas 1-2 feet.

OUTLOOK – A small craft advisory has been posted effective between midnight tonight through 6 a.m. Saturday morning; a gale watch has been issued effective between 6 a.m. Saturday morning through 6 p.m. Saturday evening; small craft advisories likely to continue Saturday night through Sunday morning then no advisories expected Sunday afternoon through Tuesday.

CLIFTON’S CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR NOVEMBER 2022.

Temperatures during the month averaged 49.0 which is around 3 degrees above normal, the high temperature was 78 on the 5th, the lowest temperature was 23 recorded on the 21st. Precipitation totaled 4.23″ which is near normal, the wettest day was on Veterans Day with 1.16″ recorded as the remnants of Hurricane Nicole moved through the area. The only snow was a few flurries on the evening of the 18th.
