CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR DECEMBER 12TH:

AVERAGE HIGH: 45 AVERAGE LOW: 27

RECORD HIGH: 65 – 2015 RECORD LOW: -1 – 1988

YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 35 LOW: 32 PRECIPITATION: .20″ SNOWFALL: 0.8″

Note: 62 years ago today our area received nearly two feet of snow, it is the earliest snowstorm I remember, I especially liked the three days off from school.

The low pressure that gave us our first snow accumulation of the season is moving offshore as high pressure build from eastern Canada. We should see mostly sunny skies by this afternoon but it will be chilly with highs struggling to reach the 40 degree mark.

High pressure will continue to dominate our weather Tuesday and Wednesday with mostly sunny skies both days but it will stay seasonably cold.

A coastal storm is expected to give us precipitation Thursday afternoon through Friday evening. Most of the precipitation will be in the form of rain but may start off as a wintery mix especially further inland.

At this time the weekend looks to be dry and chilly.
