Skies are mainly partly cloudy early on this Monday morning and early temperatures range from 42 in Clifton down to 28 at Walpack. Winds are mainly calm.

Today will be another pleasant and mild winter day with partly sunny skies, light winds and highs mainly in the 50s.

A weak frontal system will move into our area on Tuesday with a chance of showers mainly from late morning through the evening, temperatures will continue to be mild.

Unseasonably mild on Wednesday with some record highs possible along with high humidity. Skies will be mainly cloudy with some rain likely in the afternoon continuing into Thursday morning.

A weak low offshore will give us another chance of precipitation Thursday night into Friday that may briefly start as a mixture of snow and rain.

At this point the weekend looks dry with near seasonable temperatures.

CLIFTON’S CLIMATE SUMMARY; RECORDS BEGAN IN 1973!

DECEMBER 2022 – Temperatures during the month were slightly above normal with an average temperature of 36.3 degrees. The highest temperature was 66 degrees on the 30th which was the highest December temperature since 2015. The low was a frigid 5 degrees set on the 24th which was the coldest December temperature since 1989. Precipitation was above normal with 5.67″ recorded. Snowfall was much below normal with only 0.8″ which fell on the 11th.

2022 – The year’s average temperature was again above normal for the year. The highest temperature was 99 on July 24th and the lowest was the 5 degrees set on December 24th. Rainfall was slightly above normal and total snowfall was below normal.
